View Full Version : wolfe front axle
bud3738 04-06-2005, 08:01 AM I heard wolfe makes a set of 1/8 inline center axles that are of "hardened"
Steel.......Anybody ever see these or know where they can be purchased...
MARTIN 04-06-2005, 08:38 AM Check Out Rc4less........
bud3738 04-06-2005, 09:15 AM I saw he had wolfe axles..Looking for the Hardened steel ones
erock1331 04-06-2005, 10:14 AM speaking of wolfe parts,
anyone know where you can get the wolfe axles that come already mounted in the steering block? Used to see them around at my local shop all the time but none in the last 2 years or so.
bud3738 04-06-2005, 10:21 AM rc4less carries those
JPH Racing 04-06-2005, 11:22 AM www.jphracing.com (http://www.jphracing.com) stocks wolfe parts
erock1331 04-06-2005, 01:27 PM Only thing I see on RC4less and JPH racing Wolf Part # 180162, which has the axle and the block seperately. I am looking for the ones that already comes assembled so I dont have to fool with getting the hole ligned up perfect for the kingpin.
Kenwood 04-06-2005, 01:41 PM rc4less has the set>>>Look further down...I just bought the set right before classic...Then bent both of them while there..LOL>>>now I use the titanium ones... ;)
Kenwood 04-06-2005, 02:20 PM Looks like they are out of stock though.. ;(

98Ron 04-06-2005, 02:32 PM If Bruce doesn't have them try BadDog RC, got some from them at the speedway spectacular in Daytona just a few weeks ago.

Sean this is not what I want, I want the old style ones where the axle is already mounted inside the steering block.
These have both the axle and steering block in the package but you have to mount the axle in the block manually. The old style that is already mounted does not have the set screw in the back. they might not be made anymore
Barry Hill 04-06-2005, 03:26 PM Eric, the current 180-162 is the axle mounted in the steering block. That may just be an old pic. All the ones I have received about 200 sinse November have had the axles mounted in the blocks.

erock1331 04-06-2005, 03:52 PM Ok thanks Barry for clearing up
burbs 04-06-2005, 05:13 PM Lunsford also makes 1/8th inline axles.. i run them.. i prefer them over the wolfe, because they dont bend... the wolfe ones are nice because they are wider and you can shim the tire out if need be.. but the lunsford ones, are shorter like the larger stock axles.. but they dont bend as easy.. ive had the same set for almost 2 years.. i went through a few wolfes before i found them...
burbs 04-06-2005, 05:17 PM also bud.. ill take a look,, i bought out a guy a while back.. there was around 8 sets of the wolfe inlines in one of the boxes.. ill see if i have any of the ones you are looking for...ill let them go cheap as well.. email me at boxerking1@charter.net if you are interested... thanks

Exactly as barry said>>>the pic is wrong>>>I bought them before classic and they were pre assembled..
But also as stated I run the lundsford ones too>>>My front end acan be adjusted in and out so I dont care about the shims...and the wolfes bend too easily..
erock1331 04-07-2005, 08:09 AM Burbs,
I have been running the Lundsfords as well but I like to change my axles with every block change (dont ask....i think i have borderline OCD, LOL) and at $18 a pop that gets pricey.
I talked to my local shop owner last night he said the last batch of Wolfes axles were "soft" guys were complaining they bent really easy. So he started getting in the Lundsfords now.
I'll just quit being a cheap azz and get another set of Lundsfords, LOL
besides i think the kingpin moves alot smooother throught those than the Wolfs anyway.
bud3738 04-07-2005, 10:03 AM Burbs..if they are the hardened ones Ill take them....Send me a PM...my home email is down.........I have seen the hardened ones...they have a copper finish to them
