View Full Version : I thought we had a member here who was part of the JL team? car guy 04-04-2005, 10:00 PM Is it possible he can shed some light on whats happening to the slot car line with RC2? Just a thought, I don't get many! :( Mike(^RacerX^) 04-05-2005, 12:13 AM AS far as I know we still do.But he is more of a diecast guy,I don't really know how involved in the slots he would be. His name is Mac Ragan,he pops on the JL diecast board from time to time to answer questions. He's a pretty good guy from what I see here, and on another diecast board he and I are on.It would be worth a shot. I believe his screen name is his real name. You could find him in the members list under that. Mike Shadowracer 04-05-2005, 09:21 AM Would this be the same Mac as in Mac's Little Cars? Mike(^RacerX^) 04-05-2005, 11:48 AM Would this be the same Mac as in Mac's Little Cars? No.That is a different guy. Mike car guy 04-05-2005, 08:29 PM No, that's not who I was thinking of. Also, whats going to happen to their "models" line? Sounds like RC2 went in there, bought an established company and is going to drive in the ground. Target doesn't even carry their regular diecast line anymore. Wish I had that kinda money to throw in the toilet, seems like a pretty moronic business plan to me. joez870 04-05-2005, 09:00 PM not if you want to kill the competition? yeah...still moronic. JL sold very well! micyou03 04-06-2005, 08:20 AM Read this thread. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=109242 roadrner 04-06-2005, 11:23 AM Read this thread. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=109242 Thanks mic! Are those death bells I'm hearing? rr micyou03 04-06-2005, 02:01 PM I hope not. Even though I have been involved with 1/43rd lately I have been looking forward to new JL slot car releases. car guy 04-10-2005, 12:36 PM I just found this reply on another post, written by: sethndaddy I knew i wasn't just dreaming this whole thing. "I wonder if Tom Lowe would consider buying the slot line? I know he backs them, or is it just not worth it........has to be, all the tooling is there. Why couldn't rc2 just set up a website and sell slots from there? theres obviously some profit in it, otherwise it wouldn't have been run the few years its run already". This makes a whole lotta sense to me. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
