Hey Guys, I am not sure how good the turnout will be? Most guys will be at the Strand getting ready for the ORL show. I cant say for sure, but I really dont think they have been getting much of a show turnout on a weekly basis either?

the only reson that there would be a bad turn out is they think we the racers need them when they need us to pay for there track and thats the way dave always is.

Man every track I went to this weekend had at least triple that amount!!!!!!!!

i was up there. it was one of the smallest trun outs i ever seen both day together there were maybe 14 guys over both days

i dont know kranzel to well cause ive only been there once and it was for a ORL race. but in my opinion the only thing wrong with the place is the track. why do they change it around from D to regular oval? why not just keep it a oval. i dont think people like doi the D shape type track. i think any track thinkin of doin that is goin to see that there turn out will be smaller. just my 2 cents

I guess its a 2 way street.

On one hand racing the same track week in / week out, allows you to try things and see how changes on the car affect it. Same track though kinda gets boring.

On the other hand, changing the track weekly makes you adapt, and should result in making you a better chassis tuner. Only downside is depending on how drastic the track changes you may need different tires, etc, so cost could come up versus running the same each week.

I guess maybe run the same layout like 3 times a month and the last week make it different might be a good idea. That way you get the best of both worlds.

I think they should change it only once at maybe mid season. It's tuff to keep up with different track layouts when you only have two hours of practice, minus time to set up, charge a battery and waiting for your freq clip. I think racers like to improve on there set ups every week and become better and make a run for track records. Even in nextel cup racing they set there cars up at the shop and tweek there cars at the track because they know when they get to the track its going to be the same size and shape as the last time they were there.

Its slow because all the racers Dave has ticked off over the years when he had his dirt traack all starting racing touring cars and pan cars so now that he went to carpet those guys will not go to his track!!!!!!!!!! Plus you then take those guys and they tell all their friends and that compounds the problems. Alot of other nice tracks have opened in the area as well. A few other reasons that don't need mentioned but all regulars that have been around awhile know why.

Another reason now is the weather is getting nice out and who really wants to be indoors and if they are who really wants to run carpet when it is 70 degrees outside.:eek: :thumbsup:

I believe one reason for the poor turn out for this race is the format it sounds like 2 races one sat and one sun. most tracks would have had practice and 1 or 2 rounds of quailifying on day 1, and early practice, last qualifier and mains on day 2.

Another thing that hurts turnouts there is the 10 am open and 12 o'clock start, by the time you get in and set up its almost 11, not much time to work on a setup, or to spend $$$ in the store, wonder if they thought about that.

Its unfortunate its a really nice facility, the track itself is great, lots of pit space ,etc.. They just need to change the way its run.
