Hi everyone, I'm a new member in need of some advice about my pressure washer. I recently bought a used cam spray pressure washer. Its attached to a 5 hp B&S which runs great. I'm not getting any pressure. I've adjusted the pressure dial from one extreme to the other with no difference in the pressure coming out of the wand. The nozzle tip looks really old and rusty could that be my problem or does it sound like something else? Thanks in advance.

If the coupling between the engine and the pump is OK then most likely problem is the pump is bad. I don't have a lot of experence with them other then there are lots of problems with pumps, they are not easy to fix and they are expensive to fix.

Thanks Hankster, You're right about being not easy to fix. I was looking at the exploded view of my pump on their webpage and wow are there ever a lot of parts in there. I'm thinking I'll take it to a pump guy and have it looked at.

Now you got me thinking..... Maybe if I took my time..... I'll get in touch with the manufacturer and get the proper repair kit sent out. I'll try it myself as long as there isnt any real expensive specialty tools needed. Thanks again, I'll keep you posted on how I make out (I probably wont do it for a couple of weeks)

you might luck up somewhere, maybe a small engine shop and find a pump the same size where the engine is blown but that would be hard to find since most of the time its the pump thats fried and the engine thats good.

Thanks Bugman that'll be my Plan B. I took the pump apart and it seems as though the cone valves have failed. One is a little deformed(plastic) and the valve sleeves are worn too. I also noticed some inconsistencies in the plunger inserts so I ordered new parts including valve springs I'm thinking that should fix it. I'll let you know if that does the trick.
