What exactly is the advantage to pining a diff ring, or using D-Rings?

Other then not allowing the rings to slip on the axle or hub, what advantage does it give the racers?

Does it allow you to keep the diff looser(without sliping the rings)? or what?

How much of a differance does it make in how well your car will corner?

If you don't pin the diff or use d-rings the rings will just spin on acceleration. (Unless you have the diff so tight that it's locked). They make diff rings with grit stuff on the back and those work alright, but will spin if they get any oil on them. Pinned diffs or d-rings are a must.

The only real advantage to D-ring is that you don't have to pin it or worry about the pin coming out. Other than that there is no difference.
