This race is the same day as The Rock International Race in Canada, it's up to you guys but last year this race had over 100 racers attend and over 70 have already presigned up for this year. Just letting you know.

There Has To Be Some Way That We ( Tracks In The Northeast ) Can Get Together And Work Out The Weekends For Everyones Trophy Races So That We Don't Conflict And Force People To Choose Between Tracks. Maybe We Can Work With Chris From Roar And Schedule Everyone On His Calendar, I Don't Know I'm Just Thinking Out Loud. My 2 Cents

That's sounds like a great idea.........

I agree Bob, this way we can support ALL the tracks in New England, with out having to make a choise. I think the best way to go about this is to get Chris the info as early as possible, this way if there is a conflect, he can alert the tracks in question
and come up with a plan. If we the racers of new england dont start supporting ALL
the tracks, they will start to fade away, as so many have already done.
Also I think a mass emailing of THE NEXT EVENT, would really help in the head count dept. As one big event closes, the email should go out about the next in line....
giving people plenty of time for plans to make the events.
I also think that all big races should make up race flyers to bring to each race, this way everybody knows when the next race will be, I know not everybody has or uses a Pc.

Maybe at the beginning of next season we should start a Northeast trophy race thread where all the tracks can post the dates of there big races to help avoid conflicts. I know alot of people aren't on the internet but word usually gets around.

I still think sending out fliers is the best thing to do. Back in the day when Karen and Nick owned K/N it seemed to work really well.

south glen falls, marshalls, barre, even halo hobbies and maximus should be receiving some fliers i already mailed them.with this date problem and this race 3 weeks away i wanna post this question. If and i mean IF chad moved it to the 10th of april how many more racers would commit to making it that wouldnt show on the 3rd.i'm gonna drop off fliers to Chad friday night and i can ask him,but if no one will commit why would he change.

The Ty-Rods swap meet is April 10th so that's out. The Spring Sizzler- NASCAR racing outside is the weekend of the 22nd. The only open weekend would be the 16th and the 17th.

The race in Fairfield Maine is the 10th of April and has been posted since September of last year...

would the 16th-17th bring in a better crowd??it would give everyone 1 month to get ready.I could sit with chad tonight,i could also call the tracks i sent fliers to and have them change the date on them.i would hate to see Chad change it and it doesnt change attendance.

Tommygun43
03-17-2005, 09:57 PM
Is there really anyone that is going to St. roch that would race at K/N if it wasn't for the conflict? I think your only talking about a very few people but I could be wrong. I know nick wants to race both.

These tracks are like 7 hours apart aren't they? If it was Winterblast I could see changing the date.

The dates for the races held here have to go around the Stafford Speedway. I set this date last year. Roar has it on there schedule, it has been there. i am jumping thru hoops to change races. I changed the ROAR Regional last minute, because of conflicts. Chris R. sends out plenty of info to tracks to keep schedules. The major problem in todays racing comes down to travel. People always refer to the "Karen & Nick Days" There were not as may tracks within close proximity. The other problem is car setup. Most of the tracks being flat, setup from track to track is minimal. K/N is it's own entity. This is the draw as well as the turnout killer. I can tell everyone who wants to make the trip here, I'll get you close as far as setup. Everyone is different, so you'll have to do your tweaks, but you'll be in the game. I'll do what I can.

Anyone needing help need only stop by and ask. I'm sure all the regulars have no problem helping anyone out. This is a tough time of year too, all the facilities are trying to get that last big race of the season in before the warmer weather hits. If we had this much interest in the beginning of the season we wouldn't be running into this now. Maybe we can keep the enthusiasm going and run right through the summer.

Bill Johnson
03-18-2005, 09:33 PM
I'm game for running through the summer. I don't see why not. Not only will it support a known oval only track in the area to stay in business, but it'll keep everyone fresh all the way through to the S.O.S race in York at the end of September..........

Yep, Just made my calender to post in my kitchen, with that being one of them so my schedule doesn't impare the wifes schedule. Now, If I just knew the exact dates for all of next year, she wouldn't have any arguments...........

Racing through the summer is just as important as racing in the winter. I took the summer off after last season and paid for it when this season started. I was behind because tire setups as well as chassis setup changed. I worked really hard to get where I am now. Bill Johnson and the Bat raced/practiced during the summer and it really paid off for them. Anyone that wants to race at K/N for the first time or get ready for an upcoming race, should come up and practice on a Saturday. The track really isn't that hard to get a hold of. There is a base line setup that will get people in the ballpark. Anyone that has any questions should walk around and talk to the locals. Most of the time we are wrenching on our own cars and may not notice that certain people are having problems. We will be more than happy to help whenever we can. None of us want to see people not come back because they are frustrated. If not being able to find a setup is what's keeping people away, it's a problem that can be easily solved if people just ask.

My advice would be that if you are planning on racing on the 3rd, you should come up on the 2nd and get some track time. So you aren't struggling on raceday.

Questions can't be answered without first knowing the question. So all people need to do is ask. If you are going out to practice, grab me. I can at least watch it it see what the car looks like. That way you have feedback of what appears to be the problem. We have alot of knowledge floating around the track. Some people have been there since it opened...17 years ago. Pick their brains. I know Bill B, Charlie S and many others have already extended a hand. Those are 2 A-main guys of and off the track.
