Has anybody ever attempted to cast wings/spoilers for those old G+ cars or know anybody that has/does?

I'm your huckleberry. :)
Small parts are easy enough. I have several G+ indys that I could cast some wings from. :) What kind of quantity are you talking about?

Hmmmm...
Probably not enough quantity to make it worth your while unless you wanted to sell them to other poor saps who have cars without rear wings. It's not a bad idea IMO considering how many cars show up on epay missing them.
Anyway, thanks for your reply. What I'm specifically looking for is the rear wing in the style of the Ligier (Aurora #1785) or the Williams (2887). About 5 or 6 would do me for some custom work I'm wanting to do. I figured I could make the mounting posts for them out of something else laying around or whatever.
Appreciate the response regardless of whether or not you say no.

Hey! why not get some sheet styrene plastic, eh? You can find it in different dimensions and thicknesses @ your local hobbyshop! YOu can bui9ld all kinds of wings to any spec you want!

Hey that's not a bad idea. How easy is that stuff to heat up and "mold" to a certain shape like a wing would be? I've built many a model in my day but never tried to reshape anything.

Shapes very easily with a little heat! Considering the actual size of those little deelys, you will probably want to start with a somewhat larger piece of plastic and work at getting the propper curves into the center of it (so you do't burn your fingers) and then cut it down from there. Be careful not to leave your fingerprints in the softened plastic when you are bending it. using a flame as a heat-source will probably "soot" your plastic if you are not careful so try a high-heat hairdryer or something similar.
Have fun!:)

Thanks! I've got a pen style soldering iron that emits very hot air from a port on the side which should work perfectly.
