 Hello, In the next few days I'm going to be recieving a resin cast car in the mail that is already painted and decaled. I've decided after reading all the posts and links that I'm going to try my hand at resin casting, I've got to be VERY CAREFUL with my original or I'm screwed! I have no idea what resin or paint he has used on this car, sooooo what would be the safest solution to soak the paint off of this car to get it ready for casting. Remember this is a resin car, not a factory injected molded car if that make any difference at all.
I've read alot of guy's post and read all the links and I know I can do this, whether I get right the first time is another story, I've just got to take care of the master until I get the process mastered.
THANKS
Steve

Be careful not to step on anyones toes. Some people don't like there original casts being copied. Of course if you're not going to sell them and they're just for you own use, then I guess it doesn't matter.

hojoe, that's cool, I have no intention of selling, I just want a stable of racers to paint, race and display.

If the paint is good and shimmy there is no need to remove it. If the car has decals they will shouw up faintly in your mold. If the car just has decals and was clear coated with future you can use amonia or windex to remove the coating. Also be careful when you soak a resin car there are some that will softyen and deform the car.
