MobileMikeV. Just Down the page is GOTGAS. Yes Nitro Oval is around. Some good info in there. There will be some gascars 1/10 pancars.running on our local track this coming Sunday.

It is in North Central IN. We run touring cars and sprints on asphalt oval. Pan cars sucked because of the gearing issues. Our track is about 130ft.

What do you mean by gearing issues? I have never hear of gearing issues in nitro pan. Please explain.:confused:

oh man, dont dog gascar, fell in love with mine the first time i ran it and we have a small track.(nitro, bill ordered some 15t bells, will be in at macs this wek.)

Our gearing issues were that the overall gear was too big. It would be like starting up a hill in third gear on your passenger car. I think we had a 14/72 and needed about a 11/72 or 10/72 but that isn't possible. We have very tight corners and no banking. Our running line is about 125-130ft with a 5 foot infield. I run 6.50 to 6.75 gear in my touring car and most of the sprint cars run 6 to 6.25. This accounts for total gear ratio including the gearbox. We used to run an open class with any chassis with any motor and the trouble was getting that pan car to move off of the corner w/o getting run over. They were a lot slower than our 6 cell stock pan cars.

Cooper's and C&W in VA., Chatham in N.C. and BMS in TN will run pan car Nitro every week (.09 and .12). I am sure there are more but those are the ones I know of for sure.

I have seen more interest in this type of racing this year and more new people talking about it and getting started in it than I have i quite some time. We are looking forward to it this year at Cooper's.

I can not speak for other tracks but Cooper's first race will be on April 9th and we will offer Nitro Pan Cars each time we race. (2nd and 4th weekends of each month)

Also add to the above list Clif's track in GA.

Quite a bit of ideas, a new chassis is almost done, it is very different and will make alot more sense to people, and a conversion for the rear pods of certain oval cars to accomodate a .09 nitro. You will just need to drill holes for servo mounts etc... on the main chassis plate.

I think if I were doing that, I would design the top pod plate to be open enough to take a .12 as well as a .09. That way the chassis could be used in both classes.

The best ones I have seen so far that can do that have NO top pod plate!

Honestly Greg, I have no clue, this is all new to me. I will obviously have to experiment. For now the motor will fit in the pod nice nice (.09 and .12) and I will just leave a wide margin for spurs and pinions to fit for a nice wide range. So expect the wheelbase to be a round 10.5" or so, ill try to keep it as short as possible. If there are any rules that do not permit that wheelbase, I will have to design around it...
