I have had a few reports of some of the older "green" receiver packs that I sold in past failing. If you have had a problem with one of those packs, please email and I will replace it free of charge with the new version I have.

The new cells are much more durable (they are used to power the motors in lightweight airplanes) and should last a lot longer.

Hey Hank, I got 1 of those "green" receiver 5 cell flat packs that I purchased last year together with Car Data Recorder & futaba plugs. It doesn't seem to be holding charge. I will appreciate it if you can replace it. Thanx

On a positive note, I have the real small yellow-ish ones that were not supposed to be so reliable, and there doing great, my green ones...Oh well.
Hank, if you have more of the little yellow-ish 50Mah ones, I'll take em'.

Please let me know.

As a follow up... if anyone ever has any problems with anything I sell, PLEASE contact me. Up until this past week I only had one person tell me they had a problem. I replaced their pack and never heard back from them. If you don't say anything you not only are hurting yourself by not getting it fixed, but also possibly hurting other racers by allowing suspect items to be sold.

If I would have known there was any type of problem that affected more then a couple people I would have investigated it. Even with all this, it still seems there is a very low failure rate. But even this low a rate is still more then I would like to see and I have pulled the remaining "green" packs from the market.

I just started to notice mine not holding a charge. After a run if I went to use it without recharging it would just sort of fizzle out then be dead. It would then false peak a few times and then charge just fine and work fine. I will be in touch later about sending them in Hank.

I know it's of topic, but since a lot of guy using receiver pack will look at this post I think it's a good place to ask. Is there really an advantage for using it in 4 cell oval car? What is gain and how much of it? Since I use weight in my car I can use receiver pack instead....

Thanks

There are a number of advantages. Higher voltage to your electronics and servo. More voltage to the servo means faster steering response and more turning power. A 4-cell pack can drop as low as 3 volts under hard accel. That means not only to your receiver but servo and ESC that is now operating under their designed limits. Since you need to add weight anyways, there is no weight problem.

Disadvange is that you do have make sure it is charged before you race.

Thanks Hankster for the reply.

But is there a gain in power since all the voltage of the main pack go to the motor, or this is really to minimal. I dont know how much power the electronic take... And how much time you could race with this small rec pack before recharging it.

No, a receive pack will not make your car run faster... that is unless you a glitching from not running one and hit the wall ;) A single charge should easily last for 2 4-minute heats but I do recommend that it be charged before every race.

I will give it a try because I have some glitching problem occasionnaly.

Thanks for all the info.

Most probably never thought about it being a problem with the product, but just plain wear and failure. I'll be sending you an email, Hank.

Well they do wear out like any normal cell does... if the life was less then a year then I would say it failed sooner then normal.

Thanks Hank I received my two packs, but no plug or housing was included.

Where can I get some if you don't have any. I've used up all my other spare plug ends. Is that the correct price I saw for assembled flat packs ($7.95). Having issues with Pay Pal and can't use it right now, can I send a MO?

I was replacing the pack and not the plugs ;) The plugs cost half the price of the packs, Futaba is very proud of their products. That is the correct price you see. If you use the cart there is a Check/Money Option for payment. If you order new packs I can include an extra plug per pack.
