To All Muscle Machines Collectors...
Just wanted to let you know that the convention car for this year's Wild Weekend 5 giant 5th Anniversary Diecast Convention is the NEW for 2005 COBRA! The car's color is still to be determined, but the production run for this Limited Edition is only 1000 PIECES! It will be available on a first-served basis to those who purchase tickets to Wild Weekend 5. Muscle Machines is also, as you know, celebrating its 5th Anniversary this year, and the Cobra will be produced in special Wild Weekend/Muscle Machines 5th Anniversary packaging. This is sure to be a sell-out, and a car that you'll want to place alongside your Muscle Machines 5th Anniversary Series cars. So if you haven't attended a Diecast Convention in the past, get your ticket to Wild Weekend 5 now... It's the ORIGINAL East Coast convention, and STILL THE BEST! Wild Weekend 5 is being held from July 7-10 at the beautiful Hartford/Windsor Marriott in Windsor, CT. It is a fun-filled event for collectors of all brands. We welcome Hot Wheels, Muscle Machines, Jada, Johnny Lightning, Matchbox and RC2 collectors to come and meet fellow enthusiasts from all around the country — and even the world! Wild Weeknd 5 will feature a charity Texas Hold'em Tournament, an Industry Icons dinner event, a world-record attempt at the longest die-cast race track, a ladies-only event, a Cobra-exclusive car show, the chance to win a real Cobra kit car, a huge toy show on Sunday, and many yet-to-be-announced surprises. I've attended all the previous Wild Weekend events, and each one has been a great collecting experience, and a lot of fun. Remember, collectors conventions are not just for the Hot Wheels crowd anymore! There will also be room-to-room trading, a charity auction of one-of-a-kind diecast pieces and more! Tickets are $50.00 per person, and Wild Weekend is the first convention to offer a Family Package (unlimited family members) for only $75.00! This allows collectors who want to bring their families the opportunity to attend without breaking the bank! WIld Weekend is also offering discount ticket prices before April 30! Email me at sixty3feulie@netscape.net for more info. Hope to see you there in July!

I sure hope they run it different then last year. It seems the promoters were the only ones that got the very special cars last year. I know many are still upset over this.

There have been a lot of rumors and false statements regarding last year's Wild Weeknd 4 and the distribution of convention cars. As one of the staff at last year's event, and a co-sponsor of Wild Weekend 5, I would like to set the record straight... hopefully once and for all. Many of you feel that the White Lightning Zinger Camaro, which was given out only to the Wild Weekend 4 staff, was initially to be given out as the Dinner Car and for some reason, was withheld, only to be sold later at various auction sites, etc. This notion is entirely untrue. There were only 40 White Lightning Zinger Camaros produced specifically for the staff, and it was always our intention to present them to the Wild Weekend staff as a token of appreciation for all their hard work throughout the weekend’s events. Yes, one or two WL Zingers did turn up for sale — certain members chose to sell them because of their low production number. This was their choice, as it is their car to do with as they please. And the companion redline-tire Camaro Zinger, which had a production number of only 400 pieces, was always available to be purchased as part of the 6-car convention package.

Right from the initial planning stage with the folks at Johnny Lightning, the Dinner Car was to be the VW Samba Bus White Lightning, and that is exactly what was given to ticket holders. Unfortunatley, there were many skeptics who refused to believe that Johnny Lightning would make White Lightnings in such low production numbers, but the fact is that they did, and many JL collectors didn't get theirs because they chose to believe the rumors and innuendoes that will inevitably circulate, and chose to not attend Wild Weekend 4.

Regarding this year’s convention agenda, Wild Weekend is currently once again in talks with Johnny Lightning, Jada, and Muscle Machines, and to date Wild Weekend has secured a specially-produced, new-for-2005 Cobra casting, which will be the Wild Weekend 5 Official Convention car, in a limited quantity of only 1000 pieces. It is very easy to obtain one of these highly collectible pieces... simply buy a ticket to Wild Weekend 5 and you will be guaranteed yours! These are NOT Code 3 cars, but are being produced specifically for Wild Weekend 5 in official 5th Anniversary convention packaging. As I understand it, Mattel will not be producing a car for Wild Weekend 5, nor for any other competing east coast event, because of contractual obligations with Mike Strauss. Any convention other than the National Events in April and October can only offer Code 3 cars, if the cars are to be Hot Wheels vehicles.

Rest assured that Wild Weekend will continue to provide a first class convention experience to all who attend, and it will deliver exactly what it promises. Look for upcoming announcements as more and more events are planned for this anniversary year. I hope to see collectors of all die-cast brands once again from July 7-10 at the beautiful Hartford/Windsor Marriott Hotel in Windsor, CT for Wild Weekend 5!

Just an additional note to Lightningrick and any other collector who missed the cars from last year's Wild Weekend 4. The six convention cars were: white '66 Chevelle, same car White Lightning version; brown '66 Chevelle, same car White Lightning version; pink VW Bug, same car White Lightning version; VW Samba Bus, same car White Lightning version; '53 Corvette, same car White Lightning version. Very limited quantities of all castings except the pink VW Bug White Lightning (which is sold out) can still be purchased. The redline-tire version of the Camaro Zinger is also available in an extremely small quantity. Please contact me at sixty3feulie@netscape.net and I will be happy to help you. We want to put the cars in the hands of the collectors... where they belong, and regret any confusion caused by a competing convention last year. And if anyone has any additional questions or concerns about the upcoming Wild Weekend 5, please contact me via this email address anytime. I would be happy to talk with you. Thanks.
