Posted this on the NASCAR board. But thought some of you might not travel that way.

I'm wanting to make "The Miller Car That Never Was." The beer was "Miller Red Label" brewed between 1995 - 2000. (Only one of the many things the market has given that I've truly enjoyed only to have discontinued.) But the labels from the bottles were very nice deep red. It would make a "bad to the bone" round & round. I've got the decals printed but I haven't found a sacrifice. I prefer a beater with usable tires and windows. It must be a FORD as it will be a #2. Like him or not. All the ones on the auctions are pristeen. 1/43 is the scale I prefer and have printed the decals to fit that scale. All the stores I frequent have quit carrying the 1/43 NASCAR's....Must have caught wind I wanted one. We have a flea market or two. I may hit one Sunday. Maybe I can find something there. I just wanted to get the word out. Incase this gets more difficult than I bargained for.

Weren't some of these 1/43 scale NASCAR's made up in primer? Like test cars.
If you have two I could make another for trade if that would be of interest.

No flea markets this Sunday. Gotta flag a MX race.

Edit: Update on MX Racing. ALLLL Week end...All the MX Racing I could stand. Now it'll be another week before I can hit a flea market and that'll just be Sunday. I can see this turning ito an itch I can't scratch.

Edit: Thanks Dave for helping. Looking forward to getting them made.

Any help appreciated

A fellow took me up on my offer from the NASCAR board and sent me two 1/43 '99 FORD Taurus's. I haven't clear coated this as of yet and still have to make another set of grill decals, as well as a few more sponsor logos. But I'm pretty happy with this one. All the decals are "homegrown." You can even read all the fine print. The underside is finished out as well as the interior. Since this car never really existed I had a pretty free hand to do what I wanted. The color is Testors Red Metal Flake over gold primer. These were baked at 400F for about 3 mins. Were it not for the decals I wouldn't even consider clear coat. Paints as smooth as a baby's butt. It feels good to get this done. I've wanted to see it since 1995. Thanks Dave.

Hayne,

That car looks great. Anytime you need any cars let me know - I have some other beater 1/43 - corgi and matchboxes and others. You do great work

If it weren't for you I'd still be looking for a 1/43 Ford and frustrated. I certainly appreciate the two cars. I'll get yours to you as soon as I get the grill work done on the next decal sheet. I've got an art exhibition coming up next weekend at Lowes Speedway and have to finish the airbrush work on the side of my van as well as a few more etchings. If the rains come this weekend I'll try and get the grill issue resolved. Didn't think about those desolving with the paint :freak: (we really need a smilie beating himself in the head with a hammer. I'd use that one a lot.) So it may be week after next before I get it out to ya. I'll have to say the pictures don't do it justice.

Thanks again.
