I am a big fan of the diecast that JL does.I snapped a few pics of some recent finds that I picked up.
I couldn't help but think that these would be unreal as slots.Would fit right into some sort of "Oval Brigade " series or something like that perhaps.

The thing too is between the liscencing that RC2 has,and JL,there is some unreal stuff they could do as slot cars. It's all there, they'd just have to do them.

If you are not aware of the stuff they do and have some time to kill, take a look at this JL guide sight and you'll see what I mean:

http://www.jlcollector.com/

Some cool stuff there,eh????? Would make for even cooler slots I say.

Until next time....

Hi Mike
If I could find either of those, The Bronco would be better w/ a hardtop, I would cast'em both. I just picked up some new diecast to cast in resin for slots. Be careful what you wish for...........it might get made for a slot. :D

Larry I agree with you on the Bronco being a hardtop.I'm sure in time we'll see one.

The nice thing about these two models in particular is that the wheelbase is an almost perfect fit for tjet chassis.

Hi Mike
I have a '74 Ford Torino almost ready to cast. I raced a 1:1 of these in the USAC/ARCA stock car curcits back in the '70's. We used a 427 wedge on the short tracks, and switched to a 429 Boss or a 427 Tunnleport on the mile dirts and bigger tracks. Those were the days........

Hello, I hope I'm not to far off topic here, what I would like see is a shell of a sprint car w/o the wings, I really don't want to try to "learn" how to make them, I have a fairly good knack at detailing and I could with some experimentation make the nerf bars for the front, rear and sides as well as the roll cage. I personally don't like the look of the lifelike sprinters that can be had now, they look way too ugly and unrealistic to me. I would love to be able to fit a tyco slim chasis under one, for I have a half mile scale full banked oval that would work great on. I have seen alot of sprinters on the web and ninty percent of I didn't care for. however I did see one on ebay that's up for auction as I type this that looked really well, sorry I don't have the link, it did have the wings on it and the guy said he copied it from a matchbox car. If anybody would interested in doing something like this I would be estatic.

Rodco, that's just a JL diecast sitting in a JLTO case...I never cracked it apart to put it on an electric chassis because the JL is one of our fastest on the HotWheel track... It can't be a "rare" car, because I got it off the rack at our TRU and our racks are thoroughly picked through long before I show up... heh heh That sure would be a beaut on a JLTO, though, eh?

Headbanger go to Tom Heisters web site

He has some white vacuum formed sprint cars you might want to try

I molded the Vampire Van, the Fireball Dodge, a Citreon, and 49 Mercury, all from Johnny Lightning.
Mike, I had that Jeep in my hand the other day thinking I could do this, but changed my mind last minute and put it back.
If I had a nickel for every "unfinished slotcar project" in the cabinet, i'd be rich.

Eb,
Couldn't agree more. That would make one heck of a XTrac. Heck, RC2 has the molds done for the slotcar already, they just have to cut the molds in half and put them back together with each other's half. We'd have to say good by to the Nomad and the Vette, but we'd have that Novette or Cormad then. Or whatever they call it.  rr

Hi Headbanger
Try Hotlapsracin.com (http://www.hotlapsracin.com), he has several styles of sprint bodies, and at great prices! I have done alot of business with Dana @ Hot Laps, and I highly recommend him.
