I am new to 12th scale and am looking for some advice on a asphalt and carpet set up for the Hyperdrive 9000. I don't no how the size and weight of the car makes a difference in set up as to my 10 th scale. The wheel base is smaller and shorter and the car is much lighter so I doubt if I put my 10 th scale set up in it ,it would work.should I just go one step softer on everything??? Thanks

one step softer is a good starting point but i wouldn't go below silver side springs, try .020 asc fornts springs. the 1/12 scale cars are a bite harder to drive and harder to put down the same power as the 1/10 counterparts. they are alot of fun, wish more people would rum them. I think there a much better fit to alot of the smaller bullring tracks we run, especially with 4 cell stock.

Alright thanks . Yeah I drove a buddies in practice and now I'm hooked. It was fun. He had to beg me to give him the radio back. He got it back when the Batt. fell off...lol I know alot of people buying them atleast 5 from my area. They seem to be making a come back.. Now if we can get wolfe and some others to come back we'll be alright.. I hate ass. front springs

OK Chris here's mine....silver springs on all three shocks. I replaced the center stock shock with an tc3 treaded shock body and replace the shock mounts the HD graphite adj on the 2nd to top hole. Servo mounts also replace with the HD adjustable mounts with the servo centered and flip so that most of the servo is on the left hand side. I have the IRS front end...fitted for the long wheel base. Locator plates: LF second most towards center and RF third most towards center. I numbered my locater plates with 1 beginning the most inside and going out. So following that it LF-2 and RF-3. If you follow. lf placed top right and rf middle inside...the wolf kingpins are too long for 1/12 scale, yeah it would be nice but I guess were stuck with the asso. type springs.

Hope this helps you out and I'll see you Saturday

They work, just not for long .They tend to wear out faster and I always get them mixed up and then try to find out by pinching them between my fingers and tring to guess is this a 18 or a 20.. No thanks..lol

Mark them with some finger nail polish when you take them out of the bag.

Good idea I will have to do that. I was thinking since I have to use these springs of some way to mark them. I was thinking Sharpies. But finger nail polish is better.

Off the subject a little bit but Why are 10th scale Hyperdrive kits so much money and they don't give you their alum. castor blocks or their shock mount ...lol I mean come on If I am going to pay 300 + for a sled give me your option parts. If I just missed it in the descrption someone let me know

Shumacher 99, I am not sure where or why you paid 300 for a 1\12, the retail is 389.95 compaired to the 1\10 team kits at 549.95. the street price on the 1\12 is about 220-230 and on the 1\10 is 320-340.

If you paid 300 for a 1\12 kit that did not have all the extra parts, that is not a Hyperdrive issue that is a hobbyshop issue, we priced the kit accordingly.

thanks

No Barry I was talking about the Pro2. I got my 12th scale for much less. I was on rc 4 less and Hyperdrive website looking at the pro 2 and was surprised that it did not come with the alum. castor blocks and the new shock mount. I love my 12th scale so much I was wanting the 10th scale but if my info is wrong and it comes with those options then I appoligize. If it don't it should. I run both options on my L4 and tell people there a must. Cause they are..lol Set me stright if I was incorrect. Please don't miss understand I think the hk 9000 is the 12th scale to buy and the kit is 2nd to none.Hyperdrive has a great product or I would not have bought it. I was just making a comment that if It didn't come with the options above that is was a little high at 320. If it does then it right on with everyone elses kits KSG, CW etc.( L4's are cheap...lol)
Meant no offense Barry.. ;)

I believe Shu99 was talking about the adjustable graphite shock mounts. Those came out some time last year...not sure what he is talking about the castor blocks....

I was talking about the graphite shock mount. I finally found that it comes with the red castor blocks but not the shock mount. No biggie. S"kool . next time I won't ask until I have done 12 hours research.

He is just so excited that he may be able to get into his 1/12 car and drive it. Ever see the commercial with the lizard driving the car....

The team kits come with the graphite shock mounts, we just did not update the box cover with a picture that shows it.

Shumacher 99 i would get the 2005 dodge charger body, from putnam propulsion.

Mike the charger is a killer body, the whole car seems more planted not just the nose, unlike the monte carlo. I would sugjest the AREO ONE body for everyone that is into 1/12...Jeff

Chris, for asphalt you might want to go with the soft...maybe medium. leave the hard for carpet.

I hate not knowing what to do to these little bugger's and have to ask ques. like some newbie... Oh well I never claimed to know it all. I thought the soft would be the way to go but I wanted to make sure first.

Dwight Smith had great results with our 1/12th body at the birds in mod . Mr. Hyper drive himself Barry Hill did great with our 1/12th. And unless i'm wrong Eric Anderson ran well with it as well. So try them Shumacher.. go to the bandit thread and i posted links to photos of the body.
