I'm starting this to drum up support for a new track that is located in Frederick MD. It is an indoor asphalt track that just opened. Here's a pic from the paving job that was going on (http://www.htufrederickmd.com/track2.jpg). Right now they are only running road course type racing on Saturdays. I hope to get enough oval interest generated so we can have some oval Sundays there as well. If you are interested in running oval, please contact the track and make your voice heard. They indicated that they will setup oval so long as there's enough interest. Even if it means running every other weekend that is far better than the alternative of soon to be nothing here in MD. For those that go to the Glen Burnie track (my adopted track), I received indication that there's only one more week that they will be running oval there until the next indoor season. This looks to have the makings of an awesome indoor oval track lets get behind it and get oval going there if we can. The number of the shop is located on their website. Thanks

OK- Here's are my impressions of this new track. Firstly, this track is ultra smooth. They did this track right!!! Kudos to the ownership. Ready for this.... the track is a true 100 ft. x 46 ft. The track is in the back of the hobby shop which is easily 2-3 times larger than the Hobbytown in Glen Burnie. It has plenty of pit spaces and clean bathrooms. The drivers stand is elevated like Willow Milll & Seaford and very confortable. This track in my opinion has the potential to host a national event if they wanted to go through the headaches of doing so.
I spoke with the owner of the hobby shop and I stated my desire to hold regular oval racing at the track. He was completely open to the idea and I will continue to try and get something firmly situated with him. I think that if we can make some sort of commitment of every other week it would be great for the MD oval scene.
Guys I promise you... once you see this place, you will not want to leave. It is one of the greatest track you will have ever placed your car on. For those that maybe coming from a little distance, you will be rewarded with an ultra smooth superspeedway flat track.
One other thing to remember, summer is coming up, this place is indoor and is air-conditioned/heated . Don't know about you but I like that.
If you feel like I do about having some regular Oval style racing in MD, please call and ask to talk with the owner. Indicate your desire to come and race there. I believe it will only take once and you will be hooked, so I at least ask that you come out at least once. Thanks
