A have a hudy, has worked great for me for years, but the Fantom one that came out about a year ago is stellar, it's a nice piece and would be my choice if I ever had to get another.

I really like the Hudy I have. Haven't seen the Fantom but have heard very good things about them. Use to have one of the old Twister lathes that worked very well too but sold that and got the Hudy ...have been real satisfied with it.

I LOVE my old TWISTER Lathe, it's powered by an OLD Tekin Motor Checker and a 4cell pack. It's OLD TECH-LOW TECH but VERY Functionable

I prefer the old Twister one myself. Its very robust as far as lathes go and it is adjustable if need be.

I have an old twister lathe as well, still works great ..... BTW I heard if you never clean your lathe and let the little shavings pile up on it, that good for a tenth of a second a lap .... lol

I would have to go 2 ways on this one:
1) Cobras lathes can be found very cheap on these boards, including a diamond bit. I have never had a problem with my cobra at all. It says true time and time again.
2) The Fantom lathe is probally the best design Ive seen. Its expensive, but it will stay true no matter what..........although one of the two Fantom lathe owners Ive talked to said his was shipped to him, sealed, and with a taper.........
