I attended a toy show in Milwaukee today . Picked up 2 new 69 Cougars from Ertl & 2 Hwy 61 Challengers ... Saw the new 69 Road Runner by Ertl . Red/orange color . Still has the GTX trim on the sides , painted over . Like the last couple they did . Ertl could do a better job on those 69 RR's .
The Hwy 61 '71 Challenger has painted bumpers , I thought only Cuda's had that ....

Would love to have the Challengers...didn't know if the bumpers could be had in the body color as well..but have seen pics of TAs with matching body color bumpers..I have the yellow AAR Cuda on preorder...it has the body colored bumpers....should be out the end of March..

You can get most of those at Model Empire on 72nd & Greenfield. I take it you went to the show at Serb Hall?
Nice additions, no doubt. The Eliminators (Yellow and Orange) are new releases. I know someone who sold one of those (original Cougar Eliminator) for $800.00 back when I was in high school. He sold it in 1974 because gas was too expensive. I wonder what that car is worth today!!

Yup : Attended the Serb Hall show . Got the cars from TYS TOYS .
I would guess a real Cougar Eliminator in mint cond would be worth at least $20,000 . I wonder how many muscle cars got scrapped in the mid - late seventies when they werent worth much ???

Nice collection Dave, really liking the Challengers. Not so sure about the Cougars, some chrome detailing seems to be missing in the grill area.
I heard about the prices at Model Empire.
The guy that runs Tys Toys is a super nice guy, I've called him directly and worked a few deals. Totally happy with the outcome. In fact, I am looking at something on his website that I want. The price is up there so I'm not sure if I want to pull the trigger just yet.

Not to hijack edseldave's thread, but as far as prices at Model Empire, if you figure anything you buy on E-Bay comes with an additional $8-$10 shipping charge, it's not that bad (1:18's of course) plus you can make sure you get an unblemished box or undamaged window, and you know you won't get a box that might smell like someone's nicotine habit. :D I have learned to ask E-Bay sellers if they are smokers because some of the stuff I have got smells so bad you can't stand it.
You are right though, some of the stuff is a little high, but I have also found some good things there and when they bring displays to local shows like World of Wheels, they have 1:18 cars at $22.00. The other day, I found a '69 Shelby from the 1995 Seattle Toy Show (1 of 1250) on the shelf, it had come from a collection they bought. Somebody must have overlooked this one and it was priced at $30.00. Never opened or displayed, straps intact. If you know this car, it has some value. At WOW I bought a rare Mach1 for 22.00 that is listed in a popular price book at $60-70 (I know, book prices are not always reliable)
