Ok I am not a total computer dummy, but this one has me stumped, when i boot up my friends laptop he got, it says non system disk error remove/replce and hit enter. Now there is no floppy in the drive, there is only a floppy drive on board(as well as the hard drive) I can eneter CMOS and everything looks fine and everything is recognized but it wont boot past there. I beleive it has WIn95 a or b, I have tried both boot disks but it olny goes so far, it will say starting win 95 and goes to a prompt but I cant get it to execute from there. How can I format and start fresh from there, or is there something more serious wrong. He has a cd rom drive but no drivers had been installed previously so I cant even use CD's right now. its a dell lattitude CP 233mhz like i said though in the CMOS all loks beautiful, just cant load windows basically. HELPplease :dude:

you could try cutting off the the floppy drive becaue it may have screwed up and makes the computer think it has a floppy in it.

just might be the a drive (the floppy) is screwing up, i too one time had on my windows 98 computer, the a drive would keep on and keep on doing what it was doing, the same it is doing for you, you can take it offline from working and see if it works, me i just took it out since i use cdr's and it works fine now.
