Hi

I have been using Future floor finish on my bodies for a while, thanks to several threads here.

I have a plastic margarine tub with a cover filled with future, and i soak 4-5 bodies at a time, for a minute or two, take them out 1 by 1, shake, and let them dry overnight. usually repeat, but sometimes not, even one coat is a big improvement.

my question is how to keep the future clean. most bodies i dip are new, and if i dip an old one i usually clean it before dipping. but there is always crud/dirt/hair (dog shares the garage with the slot car track) on the bottom of the plastic tub. i usually pour off the top cleaner layer, and move the dirty layer of future to another container. does anyone else have this problem? anyone filter their future? i tried filitering through a paper towel, but the pores of the towel are too small.

thanks
mike

Try cheesecloth. You can use as many layers as you need to get the right level of filtration. Nylons would probably work too. You could also use a tea strainer (http://fantes.com/images/13214infusers.jpg) or brass mesh or screening but you'd have to clean it every time so it doesn't get crudded up.

Do not know if this helps you and your situation but I airbrush mine on and when I'm done I put the leftover back in the bottle.

I've been using a Gladware tub and have been using the same Future since August and I see no residue, hai,r dirt, etc at all in mine. Just be more careful not to get that stuff on your bodies before dipping.

Hey micyou03 and roadner, thanks for your advice on this. all my body looks so shiny! much better than testor clearcoat spray can.

I use one of those old margarine tubs that has the lid. No problem with dirt or pieces of whatever.

Since we're talking about Future, I had one of the F&F Yenko Camaros that had a mark on it's rear glass. Instead of taking out the glass to dip, I dipped the whole body. That sure put a new shine on that thing. May have to start doing all my bods.

Did a couple of AFXes and gave them a whole new look!  rr

Could always run it through a Mr Coffee filter if you want to strain out the pollutants.
