ovalrookie Glad youike the motors 65 power on dyno is not bad remember some dynos are different than others. Its how it performs on the track that matters Dynos are a great tunning tool and for checking motors to see if the motor has dropped fo any. Try one of our 3910 brushes. XXXTMfman3 ...Yes he is still doing batterys the are top notch. If you need some give him a call. Matt Bayless L.S

I received a private email about the two magnet epic stock motor we personal call it the cosmic.Try tuning them with two red springs and 3910 brushes.Drill a 1/32 hole in the face of the brushes. Brake in as 130sec. 2 volts no com drops.Spray out,oil it go race one heat.Place a fresh cut the com before main clean the brush .I dont reserate the brushes. Now add com drops if youd like. And you should have a great motor for the main.

Hey Everybody- My thanks goes out to Matt for starting this thread, and to all the nice compliments on our products. Wanted to post something here sooner, but just haven't had much spare time lately- Texas State Championship race is coming up this weekend at Mike's Hobbies in Dallas. I'll be at the races through the weekend, then I'll check in Monday night to see if anyone has a question that I might can help with. Here's some of the new products at Lightspeed:
GP 3700mah batteries- Wow! GP's 4th generation cell is awesome. We're getting 4400mah commonly, 1.18's (real time tests are over 1.20 Volts) and our custom battery zapper is helping set a new low ( that's s good thing) in cell resistance
Lightspeed hand wound Epic Cobalt series modified and 19 turn motors
" " " lightened 19 turn motors and arms (where rules allow)
" long life high silver brushes in laydown (#3940), stand-up (#4040) and large P94 (#3240) sizes- 8 runs on an 9 turn in touring carpet and still rippin'!
Lightspeed Epic based 'Cosmic' (ROAR), 'Stellar 2' (Monster), and 'Spec 19' (Chameleon 2) with latest batch of our #3910 high silver laydown brushes. This is the best group of motors I've ever tested. All are available in 'Select' and 'Blueprint Select' series.
I've been havin' a lot of fun and learning more each day testing how these new releases work in combination with each other. There's so much goin' on in competitive rc car racing these days- and I've only covered 'some' of the new electric stuff. There's a whole world of new nitro cars and motors out there as well.
I'll quit rambling now and go spend some time with my sweet neglected lady. We can talk about anything you guys want. I'll be back here Monday night about 9 central. Hope to hear from you then.
Sincerely,
Mark @ Lightspeed

Hey Hacksaw- Just saw your post. Thanks for the endorsement If anybody is out there, I'd like to talk about batteries. Anyone tried the new ib 3600 or gp3700?

Jamie Hanson
03-14-2005, 11:19 PM
Mark I have not tried those yet. I called the other day and got your # from Jason, I think he said his name was. I will give you a call tomorrow about that.

But no. I have not tried these batteries.

Are you getting good results when matching them? It seems most matchers are holding off and waiting to test the IB cells.

Mark@Lightspeed
03-14-2005, 11:26 PM
Hi Jamie- We have tested and ran both over the last three weeks in tour car. Both are good but we got more consistent results from the GP's. We just started our match cycle on the bulk of them today- these are some awesome cells. The 20 seconds (30 amps) or so of extra runtime is not as impressive as the improved voltage and resistance. They all have voltage like the best 3300s we've seen.

Jamie Hanson

Mark, I sent you a private message.

Matt Bayless
03-15-2005, 07:48 PM
Mark your 3300s were awsome.I am sure ready for the 3700s voltage as good as the best 33s lets see more voltage and more run time what more could you want.

Man I used Mark's stuff since the late 80's. R&D Hobbies when in business bought a ton of his products. I still to this day call and talk with Mark and order stuff from him. One of the best guys around and he only sends out top notch stuff. Everything is labeled and well packaged.

Hey Everybody, Just talked to Matt this morning. He told me about all the interest in our #4000 brush. Sounds like they ran well at the ARCOR nats- Congratulations to Johnny Housley, Whit Wilson, and Lee Ricker for A Main finishes. A big thanks to Danny King for passing some of the 4000's out to people, and for all your support through the years. We've got a pretty good supply of them, but they are selling fast. If anyone is interested you can call or e-mail us. I'm curious if anybody is drilling, cutting or narrowing them and finding more performance. Also if any of the com drops are working better than others; or if many have found that running them dry is best. So, how 'bout it- let's share some ideas and see if we all can get faster.
New higher silver stock brushes are starting to make some waves. I thought we pushed this #3911 compound over the edge by adding too much silver. Our latest batch has a little change to the lubricant, and it's seems to be what was needed. Looks best on ovals and bigger tracks, while our old favorite #3910 appears to be best for low end power.
Fresh groups of 3300's and 3700's will be finished matching soon. GP's never looked better.
Matt's comments on motors and brushes are right on the money and he has become the most consistent and controlled test person we've ever had doing research to help us design a better product. Thanks Matt, your efforts are really appreciated
Sincerely, Mark @ Lightspeed (817) 483-5776 lightspeedrc1@aol.com
