Just to bring all of you guys up to date concerning The Invitational 2005 race at Cooper's this year. I have a few things to announce and a few more things that I am saving until all the "t's" are crossed etc, etc.

First, the "program" will be run in THREE steps this year: Step (1) is the qualifiers (Thunder Road will run theirs on March 12th along with their St Patrick's Day, Race for the Green. Seaford, DE will run theirs on June 25th. Others will be announced as they are confirmed). You have to run at least one qualifier to be able to go to step 2. But you can run as many and qualify for as many classes as you want. Plus, EVERYONE that races will be qualified, not just the A Mainer's like we did last year. Qualifiers can be run on any CARPET OR PAVED track that wants to hold one, just let me know. Also, Qualifiers may be run in conjunction with another scheduled race.

Step (2) is the Semi's. These will be run at 4 to 5 different tracks through out the country. I will announce these races later. These will be an Invitational Semi Race ONLY; they will be a ONE SPONSOR race and cannot be run in conjunction with another race. The Invitational Committee will arrange the sponsors for these races. Again, you will have to run at least one of the Semi's to be able to go to step 3. (Track owners WILL LIKE the way this is going to work...I promises!)

Step (3) is The Invitational itself. The ONLY people that will be automatically qualified for this race will be last year's winners and the winner of each of the Organization's Paved Nationals. In this race, the Pro Classes (19t Open and Open Modified) will race for CA$H. The NON-sponsored classes will be racing for a one-year SPONSORSHIP WITH SOME PRETTY GOOD SPONSORS! Yes, if you race Stock, for instance, and you win you're A Main, you will win a one year limited sponsorship.

SO FAR and this is not the end of the list, Bandit RC Products and EA Motor Sports have committed to this sponsorship list. (They are both really SPECIAL and I will announce more about this later...don't want to give this all away up front LOL)

Legends and any Spec Class that is run will race for trophies ONLY.

IF YOUR TRACK WOULD LIKE TO HOLD A QUALIFIER, please contact me NOW at kt4jt@firstsaga.com (kt4jt@firstsaga.com). Don't leave your racers out in the cold! This won't cost you a thing; and could make a BIG difference to one of your local racers.

Weekly racing and Cooper's will start on April 9th ! ! ! and the 2nd and 4th weekend through September and we have a LOT of good stuff planed so stay tuned..........

I need your help. These are the classes that we are planning on running on our regular bi-weekly schedule at Cooper’s this year. Which ones will you be running the most of and do you think we need to add anything else? I know that Spec is missing but we had very little interest in it last year. However, that does not mean it is off the table if enough interest is shown.

Legends

Stock

21 Turn Limited (Stock rules except for Spec Motor and Spec Tires)

19 turn open

Open Mod

Nitro .09 and .12

.........................
Also, Trax 70 will be holding a qualifier for The Invitational, date to be announced.

You busy on April 9th?

To kick off our 2005 season we will be holding a “Help Set the Groove” Race at Cooper’s on April 9th. This will be a reduced entry fee, ”fun race” to get some rubber in the track. After all, the track has sat all winter thru the RAIN we had and some new rubber needs to be run in.

We will also be offering a Points Series this year for all of our local racers and here is how it will work:

The winner’s points will be determined by the number of racers in that class. For example; if there are 20 racers in your class the winner gets 20 points and they will drop by 1 point from there on down. So, second place will get 19, third gets 18 and so forth but the winners points will always be determined by the number of racers in the class. This way, the points are on a “slide scale” based on how many you races against. The more you race against, the more points you get!

Plus, there will be a one-point bonus for T.Q.

Everyone cannot race every time we are open, so there will be two DROPS that you can take during the season to help you race at different tracks or just take a weekend off.

ALL classes will be in the points series. The winner will win…….well……….let’s save that for later ! ! ! Just bring you’re “A” Game!

April 9th will be a DOUBLE POINTS race. Whatever points you get will be DOUBLED.

ALSO the first 20 that registers to race will receive a $2.00 off food ticked for Pat’s famous Snack Bar!

ALSO, ALSO….the winner of the first race, no matter what your class is, will race FREE the following race!

So come help us lay down some rubber, get double points, a “Free Lunch” and a chance to race for FREE for the next race!

Spec TRUCKS, Legends, Stock, 19t, Mod AND those FIRE BREATHING NITRO CARS! Just bring’um and we will race’um!!!

Looking forward to see you and looking forward to a GREAT season at COOPER’S!!!!
