View Full Version : Who collects racing cards?
I was just wondering if anyone here collects racing cards? I used to try and collect whole series but I've decided I can't do that anymore so I'm just collecting my certain drivers. It leaves me with a lot of extra cards, I guess I could put them on ebay but card lots don't seem to bring enough to make it worth it. I thought maybe if someone here collects different drivers then me maybe we could do some trading. I'm not really worried about value, I just think it would be cool if I could just send someone all my Dale Jrs for all thier Rustys. Of course if they were race used or autographs we'd have to wheel & deal :)
Heres who I collect:
Dale Earnhardt
Kerry Earnhardt
Darrell Waltrip
Mikey Waltrip
Rusty Wallace
Kenny Wallace
Ernie Irvan
Robert Pressley
Kyle Petty
Scott Pruett
Boris Said
Buckshot Jones
Kevin Grubb
Greg Biffle
And although there probably won't be any more put out I'm always searching for older Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin & Ricky Hendrick
I've got some cards back to early 90's so let me know if you want to do some trading and which drivers you collect.
Dan4HW 02-25-2005, 04:58 PM I used to avidly colelct up to 2001. I had every autograph set completes and nearly every race used lugnut and sheet metal cards but i sold them when i need to pay my tuition in 2002. I really havent looked at these much recently, but the retail prices are Insane!!! 3-5 cards for $4???
I could check my colelction and try to find some cards for you. Just gotta figure out where i stashed all those baxes.:jest:
My2ndscrn 02-25-2005, 06:34 PM Have ya tried the Beckett message/trade boards?
Michael
Dan, if you have any of my drivers that you want to get rid of let me know, I can trade cards, die-cast and may even come up with some cash :)
Michael, I haven't tried there yet, figured I'd try here first where I know people. Problem with card collector boards is people always think thier cards are worth more then your cards.
My2ndscrn 02-26-2005, 12:34 AM The Nascar trading group pretty much trade book value for book value when trading base/base or auto/auto. Also, it's a small group of traders in the Nascar trade board so it's pretty easy to figure out who's good to trade with.
Michael
I'll check it out, thanks
Dan4HW 02-26-2005, 05:53 AM Dan, if you have any of my drivers that you want to get rid of let me know, I can trade cards, die-cast and may even come up with some cash :)

You have to fight me for my few kerry earnhardt cards.
I think I can take ya! :)
just kidding, nice to see Kerrys fan base getting bigger, even if it does make it harder for me to get his collectibles :(

Hey Joe, I'm interested! sent you an e-mail
My2ndscrn 02-28-2005, 04:38 PM From one Wallace fan to another, I thought you might enjoy seeing this Wallace autograph card...
Michael
That's way cool! All 3 on one card! Did you pull that out of a pack or did you have to buy it? I think I'd have to change my undies if I pulled that card out of a pack!
Heres a pic of mine, just Rusty and I had to get it on ebay but it only cost me six bux!
http://ourworld.cs.com/majicauction/rusty.JPG
and heres my car cover, had to get that off ebay too

My2ndscrn 03-01-2005, 07:58 AM In 7 years of buying nascar packs, I have yet to pull a Wallace autograph! The triple was a gift from a friend.... I actually need the Wallace/Mayfield double auto card to complete that set.
The prize of my autograph collection? A nearly complete set of 99 Press Pass Signings autographs. Well, if you don't count the black ink versions released in 03, it's COMPLETE! There are too many to post pictures of it, though. 63 autographs!
Michael
Just for you... A couple of random Wallace cards I have out.
cobra 03-03-2005, 10:53 AM While going through the junk drawer I found the remaining Nascar cards from my collecting days - pictures included. Anybody interested shoot me a cash offer for all of them.

campusch46 03-03-2005, 04:40 PM Hey, sounds like fun. I used to try and complete regular sets but after seeing how expensive that proposition was I now collect Jamie McMurrays. I'll take a look and see what I have for you and give you a list. :)
Funny, I was sitting here busting a box of 2005 wheels and as I read your post I pulled a Jamie McMurray Man & Machine card :) Want it?

Cowboy88 - thanks but I don't collect schrader
streaker - never seen them sorry
My2ndscrn - damn, thats a nice collection of autos to have! How many did you actually pull from packs? My luck is so bad on packs........:(
campusch46 03-15-2005, 03:41 PM Hey Pony, thanks for the card. I'll keep looking for something to send you in return. ;)
Hey campusch46, pulled a 2005 Eclipse Maxim Jamie McMurray, you need it?
My2ndscrn 03-15-2005, 06:18 PM I pulled about half of those 99 PP Signings.... Only big name pull was the Mark Martin. I ended up buying and trading for the rest. As for Wallace autos, I have 46 and didn't pull one of them!

CJTORINO 03-15-2005, 06:56 PM was reading this thread, got me thinking, and searching, and I found some NASCAR cards from 1991. about two dozen or so. They are made by a company called " TRAKS". some interesting cards, some drivers, some team members and some owners.
Some of the more recognizable names for drivers include:
Dick Trickle.
Neil Bonnett.
Mark Martin.
Dale Jarrett.
Dave Marcis.
Steve Grissom,
and a very young possible rookie card for Jeff Gordon.
knew I had them, also have some 'Richard Petty' Cards from the same era,
any interest?
I dont do cards, but these are all in good shape. real crisp.
its interesting to read the backs of the cards,
for instance, Dale Jarretts card says zero wins, And Mark Martin only had Four.
Jeff did have a card before that in the world of outlaws set but the 1991 is considered his "rookie card" I guess since it's his first stock car card. It books for 10-25 bux. My local card shop has one, they have 25 on thiers but it's been sitting for a long time!
Good find!
campusch46 03-24-2005, 03:35 PM Hey Pony, I sure would like that Maxim card. Haven't seen any eclipse product in this area. Do you still have my info? Thanks I'll make it up to you!
:dude:
There you are! Yeah I still have your info, I'll get it out tommorrow. We have 2 small hobby shops, each got 1 box of eclipse, one was $6.95 a pack, the other $6.99! Our Wal-Mart, TRU, ect have absoloutly no racing product at all!
BIGJOESDIECAST 03-25-2005, 12:37 AM hey pony! i did'nt forget about ya! i'll email you soon and give you a ring so we can do some trading! i've been swamped with shows and trying to get ready for fest! talk to you soon!
TennFan 03-31-2005, 10:34 PM I collect race car cards. Buy most of them at Wal-Mart or at Target. Not too often though. Have quite a few of Richard Petty.
campusch46 04-07-2005, 04:35 PM Hey Pony, I received the McMurray Maxim card yesterday and it's a cooool one. Please email me your address so that I can return the favor. Can't quite make out the street name. Thanks again, happy hunting!!!!
:dude:
Glad you like it! Would you believe I've pulled that same exact card 2 more times?!?!?1 and I haven't opened that many packs! If you like extras let me know.
