erock1331 02-23-2005, 10:03 AM Who is all in and what class, see poll above. Running Stock Eric H. Andy 02-23-2005, 10:47 AM Kenny Dusty and myself will be there hope to get a couple more from Y city to make the trip!! BrentP 02-23-2005, 05:25 PM Not sure if I'm going to be able to make it yet but Mod is probably what I'd run. __________________ Brent Pearcy Bulit Motorsports (http://www.bulitmotorsports.com/), TQCells (http://www3.sympatico.ca/tqcells/), BSR Racing Tires (http://www.bsr-racing.com/) haysreeling 02-24-2005, 05:40 PM I'll be there for 19turn for sure.......maybe brushless. Not sure what everyone is running but there will be several from the wisconsin area. Hays JR Carpet Assasin 02-25-2005, 06:21 PM Guys, Why dont some of you come to Classic for some practice at our Arcor Open? I know Classic is banked but come down and have some fun with us. Its only 3 weeks away and sure to be a great time!!!! burbs 02-27-2005, 01:10 AM Alot of us want to go.. but with all the races this year, we can only take off work and school so much... bad timing, and to many big races and orgaisations.. davz 02-28-2005, 01:29 PM 19 turn for sure, and probably brushless. Xpressman 02-28-2005, 02:27 PM I talked to Josh yesterday and he is more then ok with dropping a class and adding a brushless. But as it is now more people have said they want to run 12th stock then brushless. He said 2 people have sent him stuff saying they want brushless. There are alot of people out there that are making a deal over this. So if you want to run brushless you need to tell Josh. Also Josh well be running oval every Sunday and practice on tues from now till NATs most likely and the weekend of the 11-13 of March is the Region 5 Oval Champs. Brian mbeach2k 03-01-2005, 09:33 AM thats odd there is at least 4 of us that have sent emails for brushless, to either josh or kenny davidl 03-01-2005, 10:10 AM thats odd there is at least 4 of us that have sent emails for brushless, to either josh or kenny These emails you mention have to go to Josh. We need them to go to one place. Additionally, the flyer is on the street and you can get it from McSquish. He is employed by Josh. But we need that information to go to one place so we can get immediate numbers. Additionally, it is important to send your entries in ASAP. The due date is quickly approaching. I would really suck if some of you send and email, then don't enter. Technically, the classes are set, but we at ROAR are going to attempt to accomodate you drivers that want to run this brushless system. I stress the word "attempt". It all depends on how many enter. David Lee ROAR Director of Competition davidl 03-01-2005, 10:24 AM The race flyer has been posted on this forum. It is on the "Halo Hobbies Oval Racing" thread under "Oval Racing Track Discussion". You can find the email for McSquish on that thread as well. Ernie Parison 03-01-2005, 10:20 PM I am in for 10th Stock and Brushless 4300. davidl 03-02-2005, 10:20 AM Ernie, would you still run your brushless car if it was put in the 1/10 modified class? onefastdude 03-02-2005, 10:20 AM Count me in for 1/12 and 1/10 mod. mcsquish 03-02-2005, 12:26 PM Hay David, Just one thing. I am not employed by Josh, I just help out. If anyone has questions I try to check the Halo Hobbies threads every day. Josh is currently trying to unpack his new apt. so he doesn't have his internet or computers set up yet. Ernie Parison 03-02-2005, 12:44 PM Dave, I would love to run mod but I am not geared up for it. The 4300 and 5800 brushless systems are not on the same plane as a mod motor. About 3-5 laps slower depending on the track. I know alot of guys are looking forward to the brushless deal but ultimately that desision is up to Josh. Regardless I support any Oval racing and will see you at the regional and the Nats. Ern Andy 03-02-2005, 12:47 PM Ernie will you guys be at Halo next weekend? Andy Ernie Parison 03-02-2005, 01:03 PM Andy, Why dont you guys come over to Lansing this weekend. Michigan carpet oval champs going on Sat. @ hobby hub. All the Ulbrinks, Jamie Hanson, Myself and Zubak are all running stock. Should be a stout field. Indiana and Wisconsin boys will be out too. I will be @ Halo next week. Andy 03-02-2005, 02:06 PM I couldnt get the time off work.Sounds like it will be a great race up there!!But we will be up at Halo for the Region race.See you guys then. Andy "Chris Ulbrik" 03-02-2005, 08:24 PM Ernie, sounds like a stock shootout to me, should be a good one  For the Roar nats im in for stock. C.U. "Frank Ulbrik" 03-02-2005, 10:05 PM At a roar nats can ya run a stock & mod class or is there a rule like the birds if ya run mod you cant run stock? "thanks" erock1331 03-03-2005, 12:19 PM At a roar nats can ya run a stock & mod class or is there a rule like the birds if ya run mod you cant run stock? "thanks" ROAR Rule 25.4 Drivers may enter either the stock or the modified class of a vehicle type, but not both. At electric events where a 19T class is offered in addition to the stock and modified classes for a vehicle type, drivers may enter stock and 19T or 19T and modified, but not all three. Ernie Parison 03-03-2005, 12:24 PM Why do you ask Frank? You and Mike want to do some "Cherry Picking". Grow a pair and run stock! We had fun last week, And this week at the States will be even better. Lets have the Tallest Stock field in the Nation! No pun intended. erock1331 03-03-2005, 12:28 PM hey ernie dont pick on us short guys, come on now LOL "Frank Ulbrik" 03-03-2005, 02:07 PM I had a blast running stock last weekend thats why I ask. If ya can't run both, mod it is. I'll leave you eric & chris to battle it out. Xpressman 03-10-2005, 07:02 PM ROAR Rule 25.4 Drivers may enter either the stock or the modified class of a vehicle type, but not both. At electric events where a 19T class is offered in addition to the stock and modified classes for a vehicle type, drivers may enter stock and 19T or 19T and modified, but not all three. I see that rule but it appears that it should be super seeded by this rule: 12.2.2 At any single Level 4 event, a driver may not enter the stock class and another class for the same vehicle type. So that rule means you can't run stock and 19t for 10th. So if you run stock you can only run stock. But if you run mod you can also run 19t with the same vehicle. So which rule is the rule that is inforced. Also the 12.2.2 rule is from the Nationals guidelines. mbeach2k 03-11-2005, 11:56 PM ok so where are you guys, we're hear and you not??????????????????????????? Kenny B 03-12-2005, 11:42 AM Clarification.... Rule 25.4 applies is from the NATIONAL GUIDELINES and Rule 12.2.2 is from the RULE BOOK. BOTH APPLY. 12.2.2 is to keep people from runnign all classes for a chassis scale. 25.4 was incorporated to get more drivers to experience a limited mod 19-turn class without full blown mod. So as 25.4 reads....when 19-turn is provided as a class, you may run stock and 19-turn or mod and 19-turn. Therefore at carpet nats you may run two classes in 1/10th (stock/19-turn or mod/19-turn). Kenny B ROAR ExComm "Chris Ulbrik" 03-14-2005, 01:21 PM Does anyone know what the handout motor will be? Chris Ulbrik jkohan 03-14-2005, 01:52 PM Get your entries in ASAP. The late fee will start on March 24th, so save yourself a few bucks and get those entries in. According to the poll above, Halo should have 65+ pre-entries. Greg Anthony 03-14-2005, 02:02 PM Does anyone know what the handout motor will be? Chris Ulbrik 27 single, fixed Comm at 24Deg of timing and lay down brushes.... "Frank Ulbrik" 03-14-2005, 03:17 PM Greg are ya sure about that. erock1331 03-14-2005, 03:23 PM 27 single, fixed Comm at 24Deg of timing and lay down brushes.... I was hoping for standups, Gosh I understand Chris's concerns. If it's an Epic great, but if they go with the MVP would like some lead time since I have never played with this motor before. At least I can figure out a starting rollout before i get there. I hear the runline of the track changed, can anyone estimate what it will be for nats time? Xpressman 03-22-2005, 08:08 PM I was hoping for standups, Gosh I understand Chris's concerns. I hear the runline of the track changed, can anyone estimate what it will be for nats time? Erock, The runline has not changed since we setup the oval. The very first day we made marks on the carpet so it will be the same everytime it is setup. As for the handout it is a stock motor, throw brushes and gear to the moon. hehehe Sorry I had to. Brian mcsquish 03-23-2005, 08:14 AM Josh is working on that. It sounds like it depends on what True Speed can get his hands on. As soon as I hear I will post it, unless Brian beats me to it. erock1331 03-23-2005, 08:48 AM Erock, The runline has not changed since we setup the oval. The very first day we made marks on the carpet so it will be the same everytime it is setup. Ok I must have gotten some bad info then. Actually 2 people one that ran the Region race and another buddy of mine said they made the track longer for the Region race than compared to how it was for the Birds warmup race. No biggie. S Brown 03-23-2005, 10:21 AM What is the weekly oval schedule leading up to the Nats. Seems to be confusion about what the race day is. mcsquish 03-23-2005, 01:00 PM Oval, if anyone shows up, is Thurs: practice and racing is on Fri. night. If there is a change I will let everyone know. I would ask Josh, but he is so busy right now that he is unavalable. Xpressman 03-23-2005, 02:54 PM Ok I must have gotten some bad info then. Actually 2 people one that ran the Region race and another buddy of mine said they made the track longer for the Region race than compared to how it was for the Birds warmup race. No biggie. Yeah some fo the guys had said that but they also have been running else where on a very short track (about 60 laps in stock) so it might have felt longer. And to some the laptimes weren't there from other times they have been there. S Brown 03-23-2005, 06:36 PM Congrats to Josh and Family for their new addition. On to racing: Would there be any chance of having a 1-day warm-up on a Saturday or Sunday before the Nats. The Friday oval schedule prohibits a lot of out of towners from making it up to practice. I know Sunday turnouts have not been the greatest in the past but I think a 1-day event right before the Nats would draw pretty well. I would suggest the weekend of the 8th or 9th, 2 weeks before the Nats. I'm sure if people committed he would probably it would make it easier for him to make a decision. I would be their. Who else can make it???? BHayes 03-24-2005, 09:07 AM I agree with Sonny. A Saturday or Sunday oval race two weeks befoe the nats would be great. I would be there if it is on April 9th or 10th. davz 03-24-2005, 01:14 PM The warmup race was supposed to be the regional race. S Brown 03-24-2005, 02:36 PM The Region race flopped because it was so poorly promoted and no one really new about it. Xpressman 03-26-2005, 12:46 AM I just thought I would give you guys an update. The late fee is not being waved and will be imposed on all entries not POST MARKED or RECIEVED by March24. I know some have asked about the brushless class and all brushless will be ran in mod as that is what the ROAR rule book states and we are going by the ROAR rule book. The only deviation from the rules is that any stock car type body will be allowed with roof height being from the table to the top of the body at it's highest point. Halo will be running the normal schedule with oval practice on thursdays and oval racing/practice on fridays. There are also only 6 practice days left so come on out and get'r dailed in. The track will be staying the same length it is now as that is what the people that have been practicing have ran. If you have any further questions please send me a PM and I will get back with you as soon as I can. This should be a great event and can't wait to see everyone there. Brian Kenny B 03-26-2005, 02:16 AM Yeap Sonny....my fault on regionals...but still frustrated wiht all the brushless motor bashign screaming have it run at regionals. We added it and no one comes....but it water over dam and we need to move on. Oval nats will be a great race. Josh is excitied and with the help of Brian Anthony things will be runnign smoothly. I am also workign out the brushless class issues for nats. Two deviations for this nats address 1/12th NASCAR bodies. These classes may run any available body on the market as there is currently no approved body. THis will be addressed for 2006. Secondly....body hieght and body line rules.....this is a conflict in the rules and the bodies must meet minimum ride height and do not have to be cut at the body line. THis will be corrected in the 2006 rules. Kenny B ROAR ExComm mbeach2k 03-26-2005, 04:45 AM what do you mean all the brushless will be run in the mod class, the brushless 4300 is no where near as fast as the mod class. the 4300 was and is suppose to be run as a seperate class mc43 03-26-2005, 12:37 PM funny how nbody at all showed up for 1/12th scale yet you will run 3 classes at least three showed up for brushless.but wait the regionals were a last minute thing and if people had other plans that couldnt be changed too bad. mbeach2k 03-26-2005, 12:39 PM so what would be the point of going to the nats if us brushless guys are just going to be thrown in with the mod class and be speed bumps for the guys running real mod motors, wow sounds so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mbeach2k 03-26-2005, 09:16 PM yes but there is a point here, when we went there to race the regionals we had a seperate 4300 brushless class and we were told that if there would be 10 people to enter the brushless class for the national it would be run as an exibition class, and we were also told that if there was not enough people to enter the brushless class that we be refunded our money. never did anyone say that we would be dumped into the mod class, because if we were none of us would have ever entered to be rolling speed bumps. we do not want our equipment damaged or anyone elses for that matter, we have alot of money tied up in a hobby to have fun not break parts !!!!!!!!!!!!! That my opinion and yes i am just one person, but you can either grow a hobby or destroy a hobby one person at a time, I personally would like to see it grow I enjoy the hobby and most of the people in it. Xpressman 03-27-2005, 02:48 AM Some have asked why the late fee was not waived. The late fee is set in place so the host track will have an indication of how many racers will be attending so they can order the trophies and set up the pit area correctly. This si nothing new as it has been in place for all ROAR Nats. Additionally it has been known since sept. that Halo Hobbies was going to host the Oval Nats and the dates have been on the ROAR webpage since the first of the year. As for the brushless motors. At Regionals you are pretty much allowed to run whatever classes the host track wants to. If you notice there were some classes like touring that were not even ran but on the entry. For Nats you are are not allowed to run more then 6 classes for the event with 3 being required. Those being Mod 10th, Mod 12th, and stock 10th. Roar made the ruling that all brushless motors would be ran in the modified class. It doesn't matter if it is either of the Novak systems, the Reedy, or any other ones out there. At the time of the entry form this was the information that was available and was the decision was made not to have a separate brushless class as the ROAR rules state they are to run in mod now. I am sorry for any confusion that this has lead to as Halo Hobbies is just following the guidelines set forth by the ROAR Rule book on holding a national event. I have also heard many comments that people don't want ot come because of what happened at the On road Nats. If you talk to anyone that was there they have said it was solely that the host track was not prepared. If you have been to Halo Hobbies you can that Halo is ready and looking forward to putting on a Nats to be remembered. Please feel free to ask any questions on here, sending me a PM.
