Slid over here from the JL board. The title sums it up... not very good with computers. While on line last night the monitor suddenly got real bright. Kinda need sunglasses. Maybe the monitor is dying, I dont know. But the real problem is me. While trying to correct this problem I kept doin this and that without a clue about what I'm doing. And now everything is small. All my windows and icons. Hard to explain. I have bad eyes anyway and can barely read what I'm typing right now. How do I "make it bigger" again. Example, my buddie list went fom 5 inches to 2 inches tall. I cant even see that! Need to get back to where I was.
And yes I promise not to go where I dont belong again.

If you are using MS Internet Explorer look at the top of browser and you will se an item named View. Click on it, then click Text Size then click Medium. See if that fixes the size.

As for the brightness, it could be your monitor is going bad. But first you may want to check the cable where the monitor plugs into the back of your computer. It could have come loose or gotten jarred. Unscrew the thumb screws, remove the cable, plug it back in and tighten the screws and see if that fixes it... of course shut down your computer before you do this.

Thanks hankster
As far as things being little, my daughter stopped by and fixed it for me with a few clicks. Leave it to my kid to make the "old man" feel stupid. I had the right idea but was going about it backwards. Going to shut it down and try your advice on the brightness. Got a buddy that says he can get me a better monitor for free though. I have old equipment. I have 4 cats in the house, maybe one was playing with the wires.
Thanks again.
