I have to admit I'm not at all familar with his early work but corporate guy from Robo & Halloween 3 and Grig were all geek worthy, no?

This is shaping up to be a very bad week.

The Last Starfighter was a relatively minor role that came towards the end of his career (as you no doubt noticed from that distinguished biography).

One of my favorite O'Herlihy roles is actually from 1952's INVASION USA. He plays an enigmatic man in a neighbourhood bar who has strange, hypnotic effect on other bar patrons which launches a surreal dream sequence about a communist invasion of America. Fascinating movie on a great DVD from Synapse. It includes an interview with O'Herlihy.

Bad news yes, but it sounds to me like this fellow had a great family life with all those kids and grand kids plus lots of fun too.

"Michael Druxman, a close friend, said O'Herlihy was famed for his sense of humor. He recalled O'Herlihy wearing the lizard costume as he drove home from the studio to see if anyone noticed."

Now that's a funny guy!!

Odd. Just watched him last night in a MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE episode.
