Hi,
I'm pretty new to oval racing but not road racing
here in Ottawa, we are running 19T motor, 4 cells, on a flat carpet oval track. around 80X20 ?
I'm getting pretty good with the setup of my car, motor...etc
The only thing now that could help me is: practice and practice and practice
I will like to know what is the best line to follow on a oval track and where to go fast and where to slow down a little bit. Is this a picture of the perfect line.
I tryed the search fonction but I did not find anything.
THANKS!!!!!!

Perfect line is different for every track. The idea is to try to make the oval as much as a circle as possible. Try to make one smooth circle all the way around the track. I dunno what else to tell you beacause i dont have a idea on the track as far as how tight/open the corners are or if its a tri-oval. As far as when to lift in 19t...most of the time you blip the throttle right as you go into the corner let off the trigger and then jam back on it and let the car motor itself around the turn. As far as starting out in 19t you may want to practice getting your line down with just a regular stocker and then wehn u got your line down perfect throw in the 19t. Watch the line the fast guys run and try to run the same line as them.

Better than watching the fast guys get out there and follow their line.Practice, practice, practice makes perfect.

Burbs and Bob are right. Follow someone about your speed and try different lines to see if you gain or lose. I recently measured our track and the short line was 138 feet while the wide line was 153 feet. If you can keep your car rolling on the tight line you travel 15 feet less but the set up and roll out must be right for the line you run. Your mileage may vary.

tonight is the racing night so I will try to follow the leader. I think that your track is pretty small....best last was almost under the 4 sec. yes this is fast.

Hi Maxime
Do you guys race on weekends sometimes? I might go take a look at the track one of these days.
