Thanks Dan willyplankhead 02-22-2005, 10:43 AM dont know about getting data but on carpet seems like it does not matter for stock do not need a wing and any type body seems to work pretty good, now on concrete seems like the HD bodys do better more stable which i run HD montecarlo on both guess it is manly what you like but i would like to see some data to. maybe one manufacture will go the extra mile in future to provide numbers that is what it is all about these days anyway is those numbers . JeffPatch29 02-22-2005, 11:07 AM Personally I always run a wing even in 4 cell stock, the only difference in 4 cell stock I run only a wing and no spoiler. I use a wing mainly for stability, I can set the car up looser and still have the car be stable with a wing. If I don't run one, I feel like I have to "plant" the car a lot more in the corner which causes me to scrub speed, but this is just my personal preference. erock1331 02-22-2005, 11:13 AM I agree with Jeff. Another nice thing about wings, is they help you maintain a more consistent line and they help you run in traffic better. On a clean track, running without a wing is possible, but then try and run nose to tail for a couple minutes and you will wish you had a wing on the car, LOL On banked tracks in stock, I always run one at Classic and never run one at Sandhills. So there is no set rule. Whatever works for your particular setup. Shane Mugavin 02-22-2005, 11:40 AM Got to add one more thing as a guy who gets passed a lot lol. The wing makes it a lot harder for people to push you around also. If you ever see a wing and a non wing car get together usually the non wing will end up in worse shape. I am not saying put a wing on and start plowing your way to the front it's just that no matter how hard we try there will eventually be contact. It's good if your prepared. Bob Wright 02-22-2005, 08:01 PM I believe that psimkins did some study on bodies in engineer school maybe he will chime in here. X man 02-23-2005, 08:34 AM Waht kind of bodies work best for flat ovals. Short or long track/ Thanks Dan erock1331 02-23-2005, 09:59 AM For flat racing it's tough to beat a Protoform For stock try the Dodge Medium Downforce body This body will work in 19T as well For Mod use the High Downforce Monte Carlo Ralf 02-23-2005, 03:55 PM Anybody running any of the Mc Allister Racing bodies? Ralf 13 Slider 02-23-2005, 05:29 PM Ralf 13. I have the 05 Dodge.Ready to race.Just need some weather co-op to test it,but it does look as though it will be well planted. Ralf 02-23-2005, 07:56 PM The new Charger is the body I was looking at. Keep us posted on how it handles, hope the weather co-operates!
