Not only are they not restocking JL's, mine isn't restocking anything. Not even the candy bars! Oh well, maybe they will sell off some displays when they go out.

The one across the street from my work is still getting stocked regulary (except JL's). So maybe they are just trimming down a few stores?

Saw a whole set of Street Freaks R14 on Saturday. My local one never had the Weekend Racers or the VW 1 of 4000 set. They'll probably get them in 3 months, and they'll be picked over before I can get any.

The ones near me are staying well stocked in everything but JLs. That's been how they've been stocking the JLs for quite some time. They get them in pretty consistently for 2 or 3 months and then little to nothing for a month or 2. There is always a lean time after christmas until March or so.

After two months of dust covered older JL, mine just got 1 set of street freaks.

Some stuff trickles in....since December I have seen a few mopars come in and some star wars stuff...maybe a couple Chevy thunder....which went quick. Other than that....the same old dust collectors.

Some of the stores have supposedly been pegged for GOB already. There's a list on the TRU "darkside" board (just store #s), but no verification whether or not it's accurate (or complete).

I thought they were pretty thin 'til today. A day trip with Mrs Owl and the kids revealed a set of Mopar or No Car and Spidermans. Older series but welcome to see something, especially the Viper I found that I can't mention on this board...

;) I like them Vipers.

Our local TRU here in Monroeville is the best for JL. None at Target and K-Mart hasn't put any new ones out in months. It's really sad.

funny...we , of the oldsters,... see a plethora of this kind of post around Jan-Feb of every year... right after the x-mas rush .

Yeah, but they aren't restocking ANYTHING. The shelves are literally empty in some departments.

The one closest to me had three sets of Street Freaks 14 Sunday. Another one had 3 sets of Weekend Racers and one of the Pony Power set.

The one here in town hasn't had anything new in months. Most recent item was probably the Mopar Magazine series, there is about 3 of 2 different cars from that series collecting dust. Still lots of Firebirds and the yellow Corvette from the Chevy series hanging. The next closest one has a stack of Mopar boxed sets that is so tall it makes me nervous whenever I walk past it. ;) Just a bunch of odds and ends there.

Nothing new at toysRus, Target, Fred Meyer, The list goes on. It is hard to find anything new.

Same here in East Tenn.

I've wondered about it too. Why have the store open if there isn't much to buy? Although, I guess they do have a lot of the baby related stuff...maybe the TRU stores will become BRU. :freak:

I hear the local TRUs were barren until this past weekend, when some Mustang R5 and Street Freaks release with the American Glory Nomad (not sure which release # any more on SFs!) showed up. Also at least one store got in a Weekend Racers set with a yellow Camaro with defective white hubs, that I didn't get. :D

That's the report from here.

You gotta get off the couch... As of this morning, the Northridge TRU has Star Trek (2 full pegs), Mopar Muscle, Mopar or No Car, Spiderman, the latest Street Freaks (left the BWF GTO and Nova), the latest Muscle Car release, Trucks and SUV's and some Lightning Strike 2004, Holiday 2004, Classic Gold & VW's that look like they've been there awhile...

And they have a bunch of 5 packs...

TRU in McLean, VA had VW R5?, Latest Muscle Car, SF #14 and Hot Rod series. I picked up the following...

67 Buick - Sweetness
62 Bel Air - Nice
69 Dart - Better than the 1st Rel
69 Olds Rallye - my second as my first had a bent axle but got it anyways cuz u never know if u will se eit again LOL
SSR Hot Rod - Nice Ghost flames
2003 Monte Carlo - Pace Car (they forgot the spoiler;(
61 Ventura - Very Nice

Already had Cam AM (sweet) and what I wanted out of SF #14:)

I already found all the VWs at the Boscovs in Frederick, MD. If u have one near you, you should check them out as they also had Monopoly (pass) and SF#14.

Congrats!

I had a report of a couple TRUs here getting in the Coke Internationals, my proof being the regular issue Viper that was dropped on my desk. Another WL needed on the list!

I took a chance... ;)

I figure it this way... if the moderator wants to move it to the other board, fine. Move the whole darn thread, since it's part of that. Or don't, I don't care. I simply wanted to announce that there are a few somewhat new things showing up, and that there's still hope. It's that 80% positive attitude I try to maintain.

Why would I move it? You are showing what you found recently at TRU. That is what this thread is for, TRU discussion.

Here in the great Pacific Northwest, Southeastern division, the local TRU is very barren. A few Clue, Mustangs, couple of Thunder Impalas, some Coke, 5 weekend racers 5 packs. No 10 pack Mopar, never had VW 10 packs. Inventory tags hanging, but no sign of new peg tags or stock. Rumor from an out of town TRU says a lot of stuff should be showing up soon, but not seen it yet. Slim pickens with Target dropping, K-Mart closed and 24 hour Walmart scalper hogging the pegs. Thank goodness for Mac's!

The two TRU I was able to get to this past weekend were kind of sad. Even the local hobby shops have cut back it seems. I don't get up by Northridge typically, more south side . . .

Made a afternoon visit. Looks like they are doing inventory today, everything is clean and there are pink tags on the shelves. They marked down all the old Street Freaks cars, grabbed a purple Zinger Vette and a blue Zinger Charger (both with Real Wheels) for 1.99 each.

Wyatt

Matt's buying more Zingers, that's funny!

This short, pimply faced teenager, who obviously knew the inner workings of the TRU retail chain and customer relations to boot, told me that this situation is just a normal slow, restocking slump, still recovering after the Chrismas season.

........s'bout time they finally got someone with brains around here.

My TRU was loaded today, probalby 6 inners, VW, Firebirds, Streekfreaks, Hot Rods, Trucks, and Classic Gold. Here's the strange part, 12 Hot Rod Cars, two of them are 61 Ventura WLs. I'm guessing from the same inner. New thing for me.

Sometime between Saturday and today the area TRU's stocked the Muscle Cars V R7 and the Working Class Trucks and SUV's. Also found the Search and Rescue, VW, and Mopar or No Car 5 car box sets at one store. Still have alot of the old stuff but it was nice to see something current! Spent way too much money!

Agree for some reason mine was stocked to the brim as well! Counted 4 new cases and not a single white. Not that I care but since I was there I thought it might be nice to find one with the odds.

And I was not even going to give it another chance.........

Had to try again today (needed to get something else and TRU was across the street) and this morning they put out a full case of Monopoly 70th.

I bought the Tow Truck for it's obvious cool appearance. White rims and all...

5 new rows of JL's hanging at TRU on lunch (CG27, Muscle, HotRod, Chevy Thunder,WCTrucks). Out of the five I found a 65 ElCamino WL from the Working Class trucks. :)

They were barren until yesterday. At 2 TRUs in northern California, I saw Monopoly, HotRod Magazine, Muscle Cars USA, and Working Class Trucks. I also saw a bunch of Weekend Racers which was different because before I only saw one or two at a time. (I thought it was because the stores were stuck with a ton of 10-packs, especially the Mopar edition, and backed off on ordering the multiple car packs.)
