Does anyone still make an electric to gas pan car conversion kit? Am looking to convert a three shock L30. Any info will help.
Thanks….

Racetech used to make conversion kits for the L3 but they don't exist anymore. Those conversion kits were over $200. Your only option is buy a complete kit from Hyperdrive. go to www.hyperdriveracing.com (http://www.hyperdriveracing.com) , you can go to your local hobby shop and probably have them get it for you.

Not the only option on one kit Ken. You have three to choose from. Bandit RC Products, Hyperdrive and Coyote. KSG has one but don't think it is out yet.

Where do I get info on these other gas pan cars. Nobody is advertising them or talking about them. I used to race the racetech about 5 years ago but the design was very poor for short tracks. We had a nice indoor banked asphalt track but the idiot who owned it bulldozed the track and put a boring offroad track in there. The correct gearing wasn't possible and lack of good braking system caused alot of "sorry about running into you, I didn't have any brakes". We have a new indoor asphalt track that I would like try and run gas pan cars again. I've been thinking about the Hyperdrive but now that this forum started I'd like to see my other options.

I have one of the Bandit conversions and it is built well. I also have a GASCAR coming. it is not a conversion but a complete car. Like Kevin said, check the GASCAR site.

What is the bandit website? The other cars too. I like the KSG nitro design but not impressed with their electric oval.

The KSG electric car is one of the best cars on the market today.

I haven't decided yet. I would like too see better photos of the rear pod and if somebody has come up with a lower gear combo. I would like to use a 48 pitch spur and have a 48 pitch clutchbell. The gear I used before was off of a Traxxas truck 32 pitch about 2.4 inch diam (not too sure how many teeth)and a 14 tooth clutchbell. The car was way over geared. It wouldn't get off of the corner and was very slow. Our track is only about 120ft. We run about 6.40 to 7.00 gear for the nitro sprints and touring cars. I would think a 96/13 96/14 would be close. Brakes are important too. But I haven't seen what is being done about this problem. I spent way too much time and money on a car that won't slow down to miss a wreck or somebody not paying attention and walking across the track etc.

according to the rules everyone has to run the same gearing. 32pitch 17/60

What rules? Our track doesn't have gearing rules. Besides 60/17 would never work on a small track like ours. I'll probably just not even bother buying one. I can't get any detailed info about the other choices for chassis. I've been looking for info for over a week and I don't have any information to help my desision.

Thanks to all who replied.

Sorry guys, I just got back from St. Louis this evening. As for gear on the .09 cars PRS has 60 to 64 tooth spurs and clutch bells for 14 to 19t I believe.PRS doesn't make the clutch bells. Associated has them. The clutch bells are for a RC10GT truck . That works good for the pan cars.Small track I think a 15t clutch with 60 spurs would work good. I will try and get pics of the rear pod and put them up sometime before the weekend.
