Greetings everyone,

I used to race at a place out in Brookfield,Ohio that used to be known of as Alcraft back between the years of early 1986-1988,and since then I had decided to get back into the sport.Does anyone know at all any RC CAR racing tracks within a 50 mile (or within reason) of the Warren/Youngstown area? Any information is appreciated and I can be reached at my email address which is: mdkmotomike@aol.com,thanks in advance!

Classic Hobbies is just east of Akron OH. Great place to race. Indoor track, a large 1/10th outdoor track, an even larger 1/8th track being built, and a large dirt oval. http://www.classicrcraceways.com/

I heard the owner of Xtreme RC moved out of state or something...

I have the same dilemma, being from Vermilion... there's nothing "close" to me either (Medina is an hour drive or so...). I thought about approaching the Parks and Rec dept in town to see if they'd be interested in setting up a track. Not sure if there's enough interest in this area, outside of a few guys I know that bash their RC's...

It'd be nice to see someone take advantage of the fact that there isn't anything up here on the Lake. One decent track would probably do pretty well considering they'd be the ONLY track within 50-75 miles or so. I'm sure it'd pull some folks from Lorain/Elyria/Avon Lake together and there'd be a decent turnout.

I seem to remember an indoor track in Avon Lake quite a few years ago that had both on road and off-road courses set up... (near the old movie theater in Avon lake).

It's a shame no one has taken advantage of this area yet... If I only had the money to do so, I'd be all over it! :)

Same deal. I'm from norwalk and I've never raced before but I want to get into it, being 17 makes it kinda difficult for me to make a trip to a track that's an hour away.

Also any tips for getting started in racing would be greatly appreciated.

Have Fun Hobbies and RC Raceway is 7 miles west of Brookfield center very close to where Alcraft used to be. We have an outdoor offroad and indoor (ele only) offroad track also this winter we will be adding onroad carpet track for 1/18 and 1/24 cars. Check out the web site www.havefunhobbies.com. We have a lot of people that race here that used to race at Alcraft. We race Wed night 6:30 and Sun at 1:00. Come and check us out.
