Which brand of radio is the best to buy?
Also, can you get a KO with adjustable frequency?
I want to get all new electronics for my car.
Thanks , Fox

I have to agree. In all the years I have raced, I have had VERY little problems with all Futaba electronics and the new 3PK is the best they have ever had.

If you are looking for a radio that has adjustable frequency then the only one on the market is the JRXs3. Usually you can find an XS3 for about $160 to $190. You can make an Airtronics M8 but you'll spend about $400 for the radio and another $200 to make it fully sythensized with the Novak module and reciever.

I won't use anything but a Futaba Radio. I have never had a problem with one. With that said a friend of mine bought the JR xs3 and he loves it. Not a bad radio in my opinion. For the money the Jr is hard to beat .

I too have had good success with the xs3. Nothing flashy but has all the features a racer will need plus all the frequencies. The receiver with the pro version is super small and light as well.

Get something with a module and then get a Spektrum DSM surface system and not worry about what chanel you or anybody is on.

M8, no problems so far, and for anybody who remembers, I dropped it off the drivers stand before the Assoc. Oval race last year. Beat up, but it is still working perfectly

I've had a lot of Futaba radios, but I currently have a JR XS3, and it's the best I've ever had. Frequency Synth for the low price sold me on it, and I'm glad it did. There's a lot of them for sale used right now - I'm guessing these people want to go to the new spectrum stuff.

It all boils down to how much money you want to spend. It seems that JR has the best product for the buck. I have had Futaba and they are a great company. It is amzing how much Futaba has dropped there price since JR has been selling the new XS3 radios. I bought the 3PDF for about $229 then last fall it dropped to $99, now the replacement is $79. I paid more for the replacement receivers. Airtronics is great too. The new DSM system is awsome! I was told that Horizon will retrofit any of the XS3 (pro or reuglar) radios with the new DSM system. I don't know what the cost is though.

I would have to reccomend the Futaba 3pk black version. Same as the 3pk but with sythensized moduel included. Have not used the radio yet...just got it last week, but have used others 3pk's and loved them. Have had very good luck with Futaba in the past
