Hello, I'm a new forum member here and I have to say that this is a very informative site. I did first use the search feature but found no threads pertaining to my question.
I am just getting back into the hobby after an 8 year hiatus and I'm curious if there is any off-road racing in the Cadillac/ Houghton Lake area?? If not, where would be the closest off-road R/C racing? I see there is a nice track in Hesperia but I am hoping there is one closer.
Also I am in the process of restoring my Losi Double X buggy. I'd also like to acquire a clean XX 'CR' Kinwald Edition buggy. I've been checking E-Bay but if anyone had any leads on one please point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Ed

There is more dirt racing that opens up as the weather breaks.
Sandhill in Saginaw is a good choice.
Also the biggest indoor Dirt in Michigan in Ann Arbor is Washtenaw RC Raceway. Three more races left...
February 19th
March 5th
March 12th.
See the Washtenaw thread for more info.

There used to be a track in Gaylord, but I don't know if it's still there. Theres a guy going to be opening a new track in Gladwin, check here: http://www.rcpimp.com/rc/messages.pimp?thread=5427
Check with the local Hobby shops. The XX car has been out of production for a few years now and parts are becoming a little more scarce, if you're gonna get a new used rig, get a XXX buggy, the parts are readily available for it.

Thanks for the advise guys. I plan on getting an XXX down the road. I just figure that XX CR KE's will only get harder to come by as time goes on.
I'd like to check out the racing scene in Hesperia. It's a nice little town, I was just hoping for something closer. Thanks again guys. Hey what kind of cars do they oval race down in Mt. Pleasant?

Yesterday the wife and I stopped by Ovaitts R/C Speedshop in Traverse City. They have an indoor road course (carpet) and they were running 1/10 touring car and 1/12 pan cars. Well I think they were what they call pan cars, ie RC12L4, I am a newbee to on-road cars.
Any how I spoke to the owner and he said that they have and outdoor off-road track in the summer that's big enough for 1/8 buggies and monster trucks. That's not too bad of a drive for me.
Now I'd like to get into on-road cars as well, LOL.
