Lindsey 02-14-2005, 01:39 AM So what car was the most dominate at the birds? Just curious. Thx L swtour 02-14-2005, 04:57 AM IT looked to me like several cars were fast all week long. CW, Associated, Hyperdrive, KSG, Maverick, LE, X Factor, ...I doubt you would have a lot of difference iffen ALL the guys drove LEGENDS when it comes to the front runners...THOSE GUYS are just plain AWESOME wheel men...and adapt to the conditions around them... burbs 02-15-2005, 01:37 AM All brands of cars were well represented this year.... there was a bunch of break out runs.... its not the car it the wheel behind it... and the pitman doing the setup... Porksalot4L 02-15-2005, 03:05 AM are the L4's still goin strong? did anyone win or make the A with the L4? just curious joe ivo frank p. 02-15-2005, 04:28 PM i think the x-factor tq'd and won both 4-cell 19t and 4-cell mod erock1331 02-15-2005, 04:49 PM Stock A main Steve Peake 52 4:02.31 - KSG Adam Brown 52 4:04.78 - RIP Chris Rhinehart 51 4:01.88 - KSG Mike Bush 51 4:03.96 - KSG Doug Parisano 50 4:00.15 - Custom Works Peter Ryckaert 50 4:00.76 - KSG Walter Stuber 50 4:02.36 - RIP Eric Salvas 50 4:02.78 - Custom Works Jody Miller 49 4:00.30 - Hyperdrive Chris Ulbrik 2 0:11.62 - Leading Edge 19T Barry Baker 58 4:01.36 - ASC/Silva Gary Warren 58 4:01.86 - KSG Rick Talbot 58 4:04.24 - KSG Mike Russell 57 4:01.06 - Hyperdrive Ritchie McDonald 57 4:02.94 - KSG Dusty Kemp 56 4:02.75 - Custom Works Bill Malicoat Jr. 55 4:01.33 - Leading Edge Tommy Smith 55 4:04.50 - Custom Works Steve Salvas 28 2:19.13 - Custom Works Greg Honeycutt 6 0:23.44 - ASC/Silva 4 cell mod Sean Cochran 65 4:02.73 - ASC/Silva Frank Polimeda 65 4:07.52 - Custom Works Greg Honeycutt 63 4:00.68 - ASC/Silva Phil Marabella 63 4:01.34 - Custom Works Rick Talbot 63 4:05.52 - KSG Daryl Silva 63 4:05.70 - ASC/Silva Peter D'Agnolo 62 4:00.02 - KSG Arnie Fie 62 4:03.23 - Custom Works Brian Ziegler 62 4:04.94 - ASC/Silva Andy McClellan 62 4:06.95 - KSG 6 cell mod Frank Polimeda 67 4:02.46 - Custom Works Andy McClellan 66 4:02.05 - KSG Brian Ziegler 66 4:04.12 - ASC/Silva Josh Cyrul 64 4:00.62 - Custom Works Sean Cochran 62 4:03.41 - ASC/Silva Tommy Smith 59 3:45.04 - Custom Works Sean Combs 59 4:00.34 - Custom Works Monti Panzica 41 2:36.99 - ASC/Silva Peter D'Agnolo 20 1:16.97 - KSG Eric Anderson 16 1:04.71 - KSG travymoto1 02-15-2005, 04:54 PM Josh Cyrul had on a CW shirt during the main...so I'm guesing that's what he drove. Would like to thank Steve Salvas for the TQ CELL power, Neil Hanson's C&N HOBBIES for the product support, and John from BSR Tires for taking the time to talk about tire compounds. Without you guy's it would not have been possible. Steve Peake zinger77 02-15-2005, 08:12 PM how about 12scale cars? Josh runs for Custom Works. bud3738 02-16-2005, 06:48 PM what was even more amazing was the showing of the Associated/Silva cars.... Which goes to prove you dont need the latest and newest cars to be competitive...... wins in 19T and 4 cell mod......Wow...It showed me something........... . Thought custom works would have laid down the smack this year........I love my KSG but my hats off to Associated /Silva ShortHanded 02-16-2005, 08:28 PM just goes to show ya, its mostly the chassis tuner and wheel that get it done burbs 02-16-2005, 09:14 PM what was even more amazing was the showing of the Associated/Silva cars.... Which goes to prove you dont need the latest and newest cars to be competitive Isnt the silva car a new car??? it has only been out a short time.. i think it qualifies for newest car stardum.... the car is all new geometry... i had heard the reason it looks so similar to an l4, was for team guys.. associated team drivers are allowed to run the silva car... its basically an L5.. just not released under the associated name rtourangeau3 02-17-2005, 08:49 AM The Silva car came out in September. And the CW car came out a couple months later. So the CW is the newest car in the bunch. But you need to think of it as just a chassis upgrade to an L4 not a complete car like the CW car. For all the adjustments on the CW car that the Silva car does not have, it should have mopped the competition. But the old associated cars are still kicking. c barsalow 02-17-2005, 12:24 PM Steve, it doesn't matter what you were driving! Congratulations anyway! dave w 02-17-2005, 12:29 PM Steve, it doesn't matter what you were driving! Congratulations anyway! im running an l 4 with silva equipment on it and it freckin flys! DynoMoHum 02-17-2005, 12:46 PM I think it all goes back to basicly what was said in the second post of this thread... A good wheel man could make anything go fast... I think we often put too much emphisis on what's the latest and greatest... Most of the time it's the guy driving that's making the car go fast... not the car making the driver go fast... I know some would like us to think otherwise... how else would they all sell us more stuff? bluelineracer 02-17-2005, 01:50 PM i was on a custom works aggressor. both stock and 19 turn. my little missile was a ksg. dusty kemp Ginsu 02-18-2005, 01:28 PM SC makes great products but by the time you purchase an L40 and the SC conversition kit, plus aluminum side pod and some other bits you will have spent much more than the KSG, HD and CW................. :freak: Anytime72 02-19-2005, 12:09 PM There were two Rip Undertaker cars in the stock A-main. Second place and seventh. And one in the 19t Sportsman A-main. DynoMoHum 02-21-2005, 02:42 PM So what kind of batteries where in these dominating cars anyway? One thing that's always bothered me about race results... it seems there rarely is any information about what kind of cells and/or motors that were used. It's rare that we know what cars were used, but even more rare that we hear about the batts, motors, and tires... Pete_85 02-21-2005, 02:50 PM GP3300. TQ Cells in the winner. I've run SMC packs, bought through Tower Hobbies the last two years. I saw BSR tires and Jacos on cars in the main. -Pete erock1331 02-21-2005, 03:13 PM I agree Dynomohum, I think at the Birds and All nats (ARCOR, ROAR, NORRCA) All A main guys should fill out a sheet with the following: Chassis Body Motor ESC Radio Servo Tires Gears If anything it lets everybody see what they run and what is running up in the front. He won that year too. I would be very interested in how much his ride was set up differently this year then 2 years ago. I believe he's got the silva's xfactor set up on his L4 now, but I'd be curious as to what else is different. rcavenger 02-21-2005, 08:01 PM custom works drivers, esp. stock...
