At B. Dalton today I got this softbound book 'A Field Guide To Monsters " by Dave Elliot ( and two others listed in the back of the book ). Has humor and a wide selection of movie monsters.

SOME characters I think don't belong at all in such a book like Shrek, Jack Skelington, Nicholson's JOKER, Wizard of Oz Flying Monkeys and a NOT monsterfied Scorpion King amoung others. Still it's written by a fan and fun reading.

Includes such items as size comparison charts, world maps on where each monster lives, weight, intelligence level, etc. of each creature. There is one most blatant error: one page is about BTVS The Master but the photo is of The Gentlemen I guess they're called.

I give it 3 1/2 out of 5 stars.

I saw the book on the shelf quite some time ago ( way before Christmas ). I wasn't impressed. I took a pass on it.

Well, what this book really is is a comedy work using movie monsters and characters. I found the reason for Joker being in it is b/c he's in a section of MEN that became killers or were obsessed by monsters such as Dr. Frankenstein.

I just found it different than movie monster books typically are and entertaining so I mentioned it here.
