Thanks bugman 02-13-2005, 11:48 PM i have the same hp model on a noma thats the I/C version and i have to do the same, after i let it run like that for 30 seconds or more and take it off it runs good. i need a carb rebuild myself but i get Lazy!!!!!!!!!!!! try what i do and if it doesn't work may be the floats sticking or somethings crummed up. mines just age, its over 8 years old. its just the engine running off the fuel in the bowl and then it warms up and sucks some more fuel in and well no problems after that. exactly how old and how much use, if its alot then i would say rebuild by a pro if you have no experience or if it runs good after what i said i do then i would say you could go much longer without a rebuild. bbnissan 02-14-2005, 12:41 AM Does it have a Nikki carb or a Walbro? If it has a Nikki take it off and throw it in the trash, then go to your small engine shop and order a Walbro to replace it. If it's a Walbro, you probably just need to clean and rebuild it. bugman 02-14-2005, 01:06 AM yeah forgot that, yeah mine's a walbro, best carb to have on it. easiest darn things to work on. kenny 02-14-2005, 04:30 PM thanks guys ill give that a shot. bugman 02-14-2005, 04:31 PM no problem, if you do decide to rebuild it, be sure to ask if you have any questions etc. scrench 02-14-2005, 05:37 PM does it have a fuel shut off solenoid on the carburator ? or is there just a bolt holding the float bowl on ? might pull off the fuel line and make sure fuel is going to the carburator , sounds like the needle valve might not be opening , i like the Nikki carb myself but the walboro is good also , bugman 02-14-2005, 06:14 PM well probablly its a fuel shut off thats on the line and going to the carb. and well when i cut mine off it ends up the fuel going back and disapating. ok when i leave it on it starts quicker. those old ones had no fuel shut off solenoid just a shut off valve on some models in line to the carb you turn off by hand. personally i've worked on about 2 nikki's in my life and hands down they suck. walbro's last longer and well they are a snap to fix. if its a walbro it'll be so simple to fix you won't beleive, oh and also one thing to make sure off is that the gas lines are on a downward slope to the carb, because if not it will be hard for it to suck the fuel up at first and cause it. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
