Have Purchased Integy C-22337 Brush serrator and slotter New. Resarrated a Pair of brushes,Bit is so dull don't believe it would cut butter. Have sent unit backto Integy, They say it works fine. Absolutly worthless. If it has a hardened Bit I can take a commen file and put a goove as deep as anyone would like anywhere on the Bit. Should not be able to do with hardened Steel. can even sharpen bit. will cut one brush perfect then dull as Butter. Anyone Else Having same problem. :(

I bought one also. I wasn't overly impressed with the seration bit. The overall tool is well built. And the slot cutter works good. But I am with you on the seration bit. I wonder if a different bit would work with the tool.

In Integys defense I used to have the Trinity brush factory. The brush seration bit cut the same as the new Integy. I bought the new Integy hoping it would work better than the Trinity one.

Brando. Since I can't get it resolved thru Integy. And I can sharpen the bit.If I can Figure a good method of tempering it.It may Last. The old school Heat it and dip in oil Method. But Is probably a better method these days.

You really should try the Fussy Brush system. The bit works well and actually cuts the brush to the shape needed when running in the actual motor.

Hank, I have been eyeing that fussy brush. Just don't have the money right now. I wish I noticed it before I bought this Integy cutter. From what I have heard and read it works pretty darn good.

Just got the Fuzzybrush, I'm impressed, easier to break in, less wear on the comm doing so. That fact that it is in the actual motor that the brushes wiul be in is a big plus. My Fantom #'s went up using the same cans/comms/brushes

Tom

I took close to a month to take delivery, hopefully they have inventory now.

Yeah, they aren't cheap but they do a darned good job. Nice to have a variaty of sizes to fit your comm too!. I use the FussyBrush to serrate the brushes, then a few turns with the shaper to knock the sharp edges down, 30 sec. break-in and it's ready to race.

Do you want to have all that brush cutting dust in where your motor bearings are?

No problem with stock motors. Anyways, that is what motor/bearing cleaner is for ;)
