Could anyone tell me how to get the Super II to stick to the track. I have several and would like to be able to get around the track without the thing spinning out of control. I know they will not stick like modern cars but these things will just sit and spin. I would appreciate your suggestions...

Thx

Not using the braided pick up shoes is a start, but it sounds like you need some silicone tires on the back.

Those front weights a real heavy and make the rear end squirly. The silicones are a good idea.

A Super II doesn't stick to the track..
That was the problem.
The car was severely overpowered for the chassis it was in.
It is a blast to see one spin the rear tires and get sideways most of the way down a long straight...
But watch out when you get to the turn...... :freak:

SCJ got it right. Nix the braided pickups and slap on some silicone rears and the big lead sled will move along just fine.

Hmmm. I never felt like the Super II was severely overpowered. It was somewhat overweight and the stock sponge tires only worked well when they were brand new or with cornering glue. I just never liked all that lead weight on the Super II, at least not on clickity clack plastic track. I used to use the Super II arms, magnets, and gears in regular AFX cars and they became pretty good runners with the Super II magnets and motor. But no Super II I had ever performed up to level that the felt lined silver boxed hype would want you to you believe. Take a look at Ed Bianchi's review of the Super II and look at the numbers. It did okay, but the $4.00 Boss Riggens were right there with the far more expensive $12.00 Super II. But the box was very impressive, like a jewelry box.

We raced those cars at Auto World in the 70's,they were really intended to be used with traction compound of some sort,we used STP[NICE mess!!!]That got old quick, the regular Magna traction's were more fun. Those goofy heatsink brushes didn't make them all that attractive to run, either.
