Hey guys. I am thinking about getting back into racing after about a 13 year break. I am curious if you guys have any input as to if it's even worth my while to try and run some of my older stuff. Back in 91 when I quit, I ran just about every class. 1/12 Road, 1/10 Pan (Road and oval), 2wd Off-Road, 4wd Oval, 1/10 Truck off-road. One of the biggest questions I have is can someone point me to a place the explains each of the new classes and what the rules are for each.

If I do start racing again I would like to run 4wd Oval and 1/12 road. I'd probably start out in stock class until I get warmed up again.

I know I will have to buy a new charger, batteries, and motors. But what are your opinions on the rest of my gear.

Custom Works Dominator (original full chassis)
RC 12L Pro (I also have a predator 12, but I doubt I could find parts for it)
Futaba PCM1024 transmitters and receivers
Futaba servos
Novak T4 and Tekin ESC700 Speed Controls

With new batteries and motors, you think I can keep up with the crowd these days?

Sorry to say but doubt it if you plan on racing competitively. From the gear you have it sounds like you were a hard core racer. Now if you just want to be an occasional racer you'll be ok. I started racing in 89 and had much of the same gear but have upgraded it several times since.

The rules are mostly the same.

4wd dirt oval pretty much died when 2wd became faster than 4wd

Radios have gone to a narrow band spec due to an FCC regulation and the ESC's are way out of date.

I Think You Will Be Ok With Your Pcm And Recievers, But Thats It Speed Controls Now Have About No On Resistance .0003 Or So As Opposed To Your Tekin With 1.03 Or So. Any Way Just Wanted To Say I Run Competatively With An Origanal Pcm... Radios And Recievers Dont Make You Faster As Long As The Dont Glitch. Hope I Helped

not true about the gear i have a friend i race with and he didnt bring any of his car stuff to the track. he races all losi..... so another guy had an extra truck and it was a 12 year old traxxas truck and he won teh race with it so Muzikman could still race competitive with any gear
