Rob
Are these regular stand up hoods or P-94?

A buddy of mine ordered one directly from Trinity and it had the P-94's.
It was my impression they were gonna use stand up hoods to make em legal

I ran one this past week at Classic and ran a 60 4:01 in 19 Turn Open. This motor runs pretty well, but havent noticed a big difference yet. Kenny always puts out the best stuff!

They do have the standup brushes and NOT the p94's. P94's are kinda worthless when they arent legal anywhere I guess. Hard to say why trinity would sell them like that. Must have a flood of them to get rid of because they are legal for anything.

Not to start anything here but P94's are Roar legal for 19T Oval racing only.
From the rule book:

8.8.2.1 19T Modified oval motors may be based on any ROAR-approved modified motor
combination (can, endbell and armature).

rule 8.8.4.4 brush hoods will be stand up 3.75X5mm ONLY.Brush hoods may be changed from roar aporoved can/endbell combination to allow for stand up hoods!
P-94 are NOT legal, keep reading....

So does that mean that laydown brushes are not approved????

Well if 8.8.4.4 says brush hoods will be stand up 3.75mm x 5mm then that would be stand brushes only duh. Its not very hard to read the rule book.

Look dude don't be bashing on me I can read. I'm just look for a little clarification on the rules Cuz I have not found a 19t motor that is made from the manufacture w/stand up brush hoods. So that means I will have to purchase the stand up brush hoods for all my 19t motors that either have laydown or p-94 style hoods just to be Roar legal? Or tell me who makes a 19t motor w/stand up brushes installed. Help not bash.

Thanks Jeff. I was under the impression that Arcor motors where for Arcor races only and not Roar. I didn't know that ARCOR motors where approved for Roar races. That explains alot.

Wow, this is not what this thread was intended to be at all. Arcor and roar have the same rule on the hand wound 19 turn motors except roar allows quad madnet where arcor allows only two magnet. Both require stand up brushes. P-94's are not legal in either. KCR motors come with legal stand up brushes. Neither allow laydown.

Hobbyplex needs to word their classes better. As I know it. Hobbytown Hobbyplex in omaha nebraska are running SUPER STOCK or camelion based motors that are machine wound and have locked 24 degree timing with lay down brushes. Now this is only in the road racing not oval. Those of us running oval are running handwound, open timing arcor or roar approved motors. Hope this helps clarifiy the matter.
