Um.......it only takes one thread bud. If nobody replies that usually means there isn't much to be said................. You'll probably just have to do some experimentation to see what works best. Not to bash on Traxxas like some like to do here but the Rustler isn't usually considered high on the list of racing trucks so there probably isn't a lot of people here to share info with you.

Rustler, calm down. Oval is not knockin' you, he is just stating that there is not many people at all that race traxxas cars or trucks. The best thing you could do is try to get your hands on a manual for a losi or asscociated buggy or truck. Look in the back of the manual it will have a tuning section. There it will tell you what effects certain changes will have on your truck. The manual may not match your type of truck, but the adjustments will have the same effects.

First, I would highly suggest you watch your language when posting here. I edited your last message for improper language. Please read our TOS for proper posting guidelines.

Not alot of people race rustlers,.....your best bet is to play with the setup, different shock springs, oil, pistons, until you get it to run like you want, on the track you run it on....

Sorry to hear you are having some trouble, kid. Maybe I can help a bit. I would suggest checking the suspension tuning guide. You will need to concentrate on what the priciples are and apply them to your own vehicle. All of the theories will apply but you will see different specific results regarding the traxass. It's all basic geometry and physics.

Now, having said that...

I have had much success with Trx products, most recently with the SRT. every trx I've owned liked a very soft and low setup all the way around. 30wt, 2-hole pistons with the chassis just below the hub carriers (A-arms level, then drop the ride height down another 1/8 inch all around. as for mounting holes, those suggested in the manual are good. Stock springs. Go with 1 1/2 deg anti-squat spacers in the rear. Things will be a little squirley on corner exit but you'll be smoother than anyone on a rough track. If you are too sideways in the middle of turns, toe-in the front - If the front is losing traction in the middle of turns, toe-out.

Good luck.

It used to be fun watching Kevin absolutely fly with the only traxxas on the mars series and WIN, you got any plans to bring that srt out of retirement Kevin?

I sold my last Trx-3 to Moose a long time ago. I'm sure he's ruined it by now. I have not seen one in at least 5 years. I would like to find a Trx-1 for carpet stadium (If RnL / Hobbysports.com really does go carpet). There is no better buggy on carpet - period.

What company makes carbon fiber chassis for a rustler and how much would it cost? I also want to know about the shock mounts i want those carbon fiber to. I really want to liten it up so it moves a little faster thanks.
