Hey whats up i have a 17 turn motor and have no idea how to gear it. Its a Traxxas electric rustler and is mostly ran on hard dirt tracks. Im looking for acceleration off the corners and a little top speed on the straights. Most of the tracks i race on are tight corners and short straights. I just got the new motor and found out the hard way about gearing it wrong. I was in the lead for about 2 seconds untill my esp over heated. All the hobby shops told me it was the gearing and now that i have that part figured out i need some help form u guys to know what number of teath on both gears would fit my needs. My email is corbinmccombs@hotmail.com thanks for any info u might have for me.

A lot depends on what ESC you are using. Is it rated to handle 17T motors. You should drop a couple teeth on the pinion from what the stock motor uses and you should be fine.

its rated 17-36. So i should use 2 under the new motor or the old motor the old motor is a 19 turn
