View Full Version : JGTC cars, WOW!
Fast Eddie 02-02-2005, 02:14 PM Hello everyone, I don't post much, have really slowed down my collecting. I have focused my tastes to authentic sports cars and exotics/dream cars. I recently learned about the MM Japanese GT Championship cars, and finally found them at a target recently. I was blown away, the details are incredible. On another forum, one of the cars has been nominated as diecast of the year, so the diecast community has taken notice. With the JGTC racing at California speedway a few months back, the popularity of this racing series will rise, as such I commend MM, and look foward more.
jeep4x4 02-06-2005, 11:58 AM I bought one a few weeks ago and the detail is great on it!! Nice job MM
superduty455 02-07-2005, 09:39 AM MM definitely got a homerun on those. They look very realistic. I almost felt like I paid for what I got!
Chris
robmcin 02-07-2005, 12:35 PM They did as nice with those as they did with the Gassers a while back, they had lift off front cowls and open doors etc, very nice.... then these, all good things
Pablodragon 02-07-2005, 01:24 PM I got the Celica from this series...details and even the packaging with all the race info is amazing...
here's an interesting side note... hope this link works, has pics, it's from another country's website/board... seems Tamiya also either branded them or made them... don't know who copied who, or who made first....

Fast Eddie 02-07-2005, 11:37 PM On the MM site, there are only 2 cars in 1/24, a Calsonic skyline and a 350Z. This does look a little strange!
norsen 02-13-2005, 10:38 AM hey fast eddie. your opening post could be me. except i ordered mine from 1stop last year. if funline wants to keep some of my money, they need to keep this type of small size release coming. and product like the gassers and nitros.
zeb41 02-13-2005, 01:20 PM I just found these two days ago, and I must say that I was stunned! Funline did an awesome job on these cars. The detail is amazing! Heck, they even painted the tow rings on these things. If they do not make more of these I'll be bummed.
PWSchuh 02-14-2005, 11:49 PM Funline has lost their way. They have shifted their investment dollars to Jesse James stuff, RC stuff, 1/18 and 1/24 stuff, kits stuff, and all kinds of stuff except the stuff that put them on the map: 1/64th scale stuff. I fear that if they don't get their focus back soon, we're going to lose them.
This JGTC stuff is a perfect example. They should have already issued the second 1/64th JGTC series late last year and they let it slip due to misplaced priorities.
winary 02-09-2008, 01:02 AM Try to wake up the old thread. Actually I have posted on SS forum.
If anyone want to sell or trade your MM 1/64 JGTC series. Prefer complete set.
I have WL or another chase car or $$. Please LMK and send me an email on winarkoy@yahoo.com
thanks
Pablodragon 02-09-2008, 04:26 PM wow, that is a post re-vival!
Here's a pic as a reminder... cant find the other one that I had posted 2 years ago
interesting, I tried posting this pic as an example of the detail on these things, think the argrument was about about detail on the Greenlight cars.
I was saying that a cool thing about thse and a very few other companys, was the inclusion of side mirrors...but the Green light board, ..which I kinda consider a little "snobby", they think these cars were the greatest in the world since that board started,....they shot this one down first saying side mirrors don't matter, and that these MM cars aren't that great out of package... saying they don't roll well and there is no detail on the base (?)
don't have any out of package, actually only have this one, regret not buying more of these. I normally take most of my cars out, but the packaging on this one has alot of information on it including the actual races.

winary 02-09-2008, 09:31 PM Yes, it is nice car.
Anyone want to trade?
winary 02-13-2008, 06:54 AM Anybody wanto to trade with Green Machine or White Lightning....please PM or email me:wave:
JGTC loose or blister.
Atencio 02-13-2008, 09:34 AM The base does not have much detail. The cars do not roll well. The little roof antennas are fragile. With all that, the JGTC series cars are the nicest ones in my collection. I would take more of them over Greenlights any day.
jefferson 02-13-2008, 10:26 AM I found the entire 6-car set at a Target store here in Austin over 3 years ago and haven't seen anything like them since.... I was hoping they would've made far more of these by now. For any Gran Turismo (playstation) fans out there, these are finally tangible replicas of the very same cars you probably already have in your virtual garage.
Will try to put up pics of 'em later this week.
winary 03-01-2008, 12:47 AM Finally I agree with you all guys...
I got complete set of six cars...very nice details:wave:

I can tell you I never slamed them! Just like Atencio stated, these are some of my favorite castings as well! I was allways sad they never released more. I have all the castings under the MM banner as far as I know...
These pics show my six 1:64 and four 1:24 castings. I want more!!! My understanding is these were made by someone else (Koshio, sp?) and just marketed here.
(From bottom up, all 4 on second row, and first 2 on row 3)

jedimario 03-02-2008, 01:11 AM I really wanted to get one of these when they were around, but just wasn't willing to pull the trigger because of the price. There's definitely a couple I wish I'd gotten now!
