Hello, I'm a long time lurker and first time poster, my JL membership just recently expired and I haven't renewed it yet. I've been looking to buy the newest club car, the Toyota Supra on ebay and haven't seen one yet. Has any members that has ordered one recieved it yet? If so, I would be interested in buying one if someone has and extra one. Thanks for the read!

I received mine weeks ago. You should renew.....chances are there will be other cars coming. More slotter club members will send a positive message about the slots. Maybe one of the Daytonas will be the next club car.

As far as I am concerned:

-MoPar Club cars!!
-NO CHROME COLORS!! Make them more realistic! Maybe even some real race liveries. (#77 Challenger, #43 Roadrunner, #22 Daytona, #42 Daytona,...)

I love those chromies too. I've just been a little apprehensive about renewing my membership in light of all of the packing problems and blunders from RC2 that I've been reading about on the JL board in the last couple of months. I've also been kinda tight on funds this year. It doesn't seem worth it to pay $20 for membership to receive diecast club cars, which I don't collect much anymore, then spend another $20 each + shipping for the actual cars that I want, especially when you consider that the values seem to be dropping. I've heard that RC2 has been cleaning house and selling stuff pretty cheap to dealers. HL regularly clearances their slots for $7.50-$5 each, Great deals on cases can even be had on Ebay. Until RC2 pulls their head out, I'm not real anxious to join up. It seems like RC2 is more gearing towards diecast and the benefits of club membership are declining since the changeover.

Just my 2 cents........

I hear what you're saying. On the other hand, 20 bucks isn't a lot of bread to give RC2 some encouragement. I agree with dlw about sending a message that I'm interested, and that I'm not just gonna "wait and see how it turns out"

I was one of the first to join the JL Collectors Club. My number was 007. I let it lapse because I got out of Die Cast Cars and concentrated on my Slot Cars. I rejoined when JL started making the pull backs. Other then buying JL Slot Cars I am not sure how else to let them know I want them to continue making Slot Cars. The JL Collectors Club is mainly geared to Die Cast which I'm sure is their main bread & butter. If they had a choice of cars received when joining, slot car or die cast, that would make me very happy.

BTW - I sell almost all my die cast cars I get when joining the JL Club for $20.00 so it really doesn't cost me anything.

Marty, you guys have a good point. I've already traded some of my club diecast for slots. I suppose I could sell off some of my other diecast stuff to cover my cost for joining the club. Still, even though my membership is pretty much either lapsed or about to, it doesn't look good when RC2 blows out their old JL stock for real cheap, rather than give the club members a shot at it. As I recall, there was a pretty good response to the JL grab bags. I bought over a dozen of them myself. I would have loved to take some NOS JL TJets off their hands for less than half price. It seems like they don't really care much about the JL club right now. I joined back when the Yenko Camaro in the tin was the club car. I bought at least two of every club slotcar that came out, up until the black Mustang. My last membership renewal came up about the time of the RC2 changeover. I have mostly been hearing about bad experiences from many people who have joined in the last few months.

Since RC2 took over I have placed two orders. The first was for the tuff one and xtraction club cars. One of each at the same time. Paid for both with a cc. The following Thursday I got one car with no mention of the other. The following Saturday I got two more boxes. One had the other club car and the other had one of each. Both had invoices charging me shipping and handling. Returned the individual cars with their invoices. Took them nearly two months to credit my account and they only refunded one shipping charge. Their mistake cost me $10.

Before Xmas they had that free shipping if you spent over $100. Got the stuff very fast. Couple weeks ago I got a past due notice. I paid up front with my cc and they billed only part of it the cc.

They don't seem very organized.

They messed up my last order too. I hope they do better in the future.

If RC2 has been dumping stock at reduced prices, I wish they'd give club members a chance at some...

Yes, if they offered club slots instead, then I would definitely go ahead and renew. $20 itself doesn't seem like a lot of cash, but $40+shipping for a new TJet is kinda steep. Heck, $20+shipping for a JLTO is kinda steep.

I'd prefer that as well, I have two of the diecast Club cars sitting in their boxes on a shelf somewhere. I don't collect the diecast so it's kind of a waste on me. Maybe I'll put them up for auction one of these days. :dude: rr

Thanks for the response, My thoughts exactly Captain Fred! I wouldn't hesitate to join if I was getting a club slot instead of a diecast car, with all due respect to the diecast collectors, I could care less about getting a club diecast, I also agree about supporting the cause of becoming a member, but I am just doing a wait and see approach with the new people at JL whoever. As luck would have it I did find the club car that I was looking for from posting on this board.
THANKS
