Here are a couple 1:18 Novas that I modified with different mills, rims, and rubber.

Gunn...you can find those rims on any of the MM Delivery trucks. The BONUS is that the rear wheels on those deliverys are slicks!!!

Why they put them exclusively on the Delivery I'll never know???

Your Dart is lookin really cool, and with that added horsepower, will definitely needs SLICKS!:p

Ed, once you finish the Nova, try taking the left over Nova pieces and use them on the Merc. I bet that Merc might look COOL with the Novas' Injected Mill, rims and tires!

On my Red Nova...I wasn't that thrilled with the Scoop, but really like the dual 4 barrel setup on that mill. Might of actaully looked nicer if I would have incorporated the original oval scoop on the dual quad setup, but with the way the dual quad is put together, it would have involved major modifications.

RIGHT ON Gunn!

When my sons and I used to race the 1:24 slotcars competively, we had a tool similar to what you just discribed, for turning down our slotcar wheels so that the car's chassis we were racing would just tech, prior to the start of the race.

I too have a Dremel and cylindrical drum sander. What you described sounds really interesting and something I would like to try.

Can you provide a couple pics of your slick surfacing tool?

I race with some guys in Champaign Illinois. I race 1/64 scale cars. Mainly T-Jets and the new X-Tractions. I wish I could but I might be able to post some pics next week. I live about 20 miles from Champaign. Well, time to go experiment with some MM's.
