We're just going to have a 'lil ole race on Saturday, February 12th, at Thunder Road in Gordonsville, Virginia; just for those of us stuck up here, while all the lucky folks are enjoying the Snowbirds, down in Florida.

Of course, we will have a new Maverick Chassis (assembled by Jake himself) as a doorprize. And, we'll have some other prizes tossed in. And, we'll be running for some pretty fair Thunder Road Bucks as race awards. And, of course, a big Swap Meet. And free snacks and coffee for the racers. And a few more things tossed in for good measure. So we won't be *too* unhappy at being in Virginia during the Snowbirds.

All you guys who can't make the Snowbirds should drop in. We'll be having a ball, just like normal! Thanks; Ernie P.

Brandon; try "thunderroadrc.com". Thats the website for the track. You'll find directions there; and you can find local motel and dining info as well. I hope you'll consider coming to race with us. If you need anything, let me know. Thanks; Ernie P.

Okay, guys; does any one heading for a race at Thunder Road live near enough to Brandon, or pass near enough to Brandon, to give him a lift? Surely, some of you travelers pass close to him? Thanks; Ernie P.

One week until our "This Ain't the Snowbirds" Race at Thunder Road RC Speedway, in Gordonsville, VA. Not a big race; just bigger than our normal weekly program. We'll be giving away a new Maverick Chassis; and we're having a Swap Meet! If you can't make the Snowbirds, swing by and join us for some fast racing.

We're running our normal weekly program today: 1/10 Scale Oval and 1:12 Road Course. Tomorrow will be a work day; as we reconfigure the oval track and fashion a new road course layout. Stop by and check it out! Thanks; Ernie P.

Thunder Road now has a true Road Course. It is a road course which is not in any way compromised by the presence of a co-located Oval Track. The track layout has twelve distinct corners; and five of the twelve are right turns. Last Sunday, we shook down the layout; to see how it drove. Jesse had no problems running a 12 scale car... with a 12-turn modified motor!
Can it support 10 Scale Touring Cars? Well, Lin had no problems running his 10 Scale Oval car around it! So, I think it will handle TC's pretty well. And the tightest turn has a five foot wide traffic lane. So, three abreast racing is possible.

Even better, we can convert back to the old oval (thanks to a lot of hard work and planning by Jesse Bean, Lin Vaughan and your's truly) even faster than previously. Neither the Oval or Road Course is compromised in the slightest by the other.

For some time now, people have been asking "When can we run Touring Cars"? Well, the answer is "This Saturday". And don't forget, we'll have the Swap Meet this weekend; and the "This ain't the Snowbird's" race. A full racing program; and a Maverick chassis as a door prize.

The track is ready. Run 'em if you got 'em. Thanks; Ernie P.

Well, Our "This Ain't the Snowbirds" race went off pretty well. A good crowd of 1:10 Scale Oval Stock Class cars; and a bunch of 1:12 Scale Road Course cars; made for a fun evening. Jesse Bean won the Maverick Chassis door prize; Big Clay took home top money in the Oval Cars, after taking the lead with only a few seconds left. Jesse won the 1:12 Scale Road Rash run. Eight of those spooky little cars on the track at one time, will run a bunch of turn marshalls ragged!
Thanks to all who attended; and now it's time to start gearing up for the Saint Patrick's Day Race for the Green. We'll have $1,000.00 in cash on the line; and a brand new KSG Slider for the main door prize. Thanks; Ernie P.
