Hello,

I got some touring car springs rated like this:

1.8Kgs

I know that doing a direct to lbs conversion is not correct in this instance as these springs are alot stiffer than what would be the result.

Anyone know of how to conversion between a rating like this to something like AE uses? I like the springs, just want to know how to compare them to my AE stuff.

I believe the measurement you have is kilogram-metres

The conversion you want is foot-pounds

To convert kilogram-metres to foot-pounds multiply by 7.233

So, 1.8 * 7.233 = 13.0194 ft/lbs which would not be unusual for a Touring Car. Off the top of my head I believe that is what the Blue AE TC3 spring is rated at.

Thanks for the info. I was given a conversion factor using Force as being about 5.6 .

so it would work out to be:

5.6 * 1.8 = 10.08 lbs

I am thinking that it may be alittle light? I will run your numbers by the other guys to see if that sounds more reasonable.
