I have a Muscle Machine "49 Merc" that I want to paint and airbrush flames on. How do I take the head lights, grill etc out and how do I reattatch them after the paint job. This will be my first. Can I paint over the original paint? :confused:

Hi Billy...

On most of the MMs, all of the lights and trim pieces are attached to the bodies by factory melting them in place from the underside of the body. The only exception are the motors and sometimes windows, which the factory screws in place from the underside of body.

Just unscrew the body from the chassis and using an exacto knife, trim or scrape the melted plastic areas away (inside of body), and the pieces should either fall out, or will easily push out of body. After painting body, just glue them back into place before re-attaching body to chassis.

On the 1:18 scale MMs, the bumpers will usually just fall way from body, once chassis is unscrewed.
