a few touring oval guys have expressed there ideas for the outdoor season.. they would like to make foams ilegal for outdoor racing and only allow rubber tires NO caps tires or foams...if you run touring oval and like or dis-like the idea lmk asap
still searching for a common ground with the advent of new batteries, i have heard rumors of 3 more different cells being released this year! yikes!
DEI.2 01-26-2005, 06:56 PM Do you have a list of classes that are expected to run?
rcgen 01-26-2005, 07:09 PM I know this is your baby, but you can do like the Fl state on road series and have every one run C27 take offs. 3of the 6 tracks listed are hosting an on-road race so most should have the tires available. Touring oval go figure hmmm LOL
katf1sh 01-26-2005, 07:39 PM classes available
touring oval 19 turn 6 cells oval bodies only
4 cell stock
pro stock 4 cell
4 cell 19 turn
12th 19 turn
break out class any motor..body...battery lap limit makes it even for all
19 turn truck
classic/hot rod class same rules as race rock races
mike will be getting a new set of "how to act at the track) rules as well as some updated class rules and changes..mike boylan does all the work on the web site..this time of the year he is super busy with the snowbirds...
DEI.2 01-26-2005, 07:59 PM Could you give basic rules for pro stock 4cell? Thanks
rcgen 01-26-2005, 08:02 PM Check here:Rules (http://focars.net/rules.htm)

DEI.2 01-27-2005, 07:19 PM Are the FOCAR races one day events?
rcgen 01-27-2005, 07:56 PM Yes..
J.Filipow 01-27-2005, 10:46 PM kat- Good luck with the new series!!!
Ernie Parison 01-28-2005, 12:15 PM Kat,
I am interested in your series. I am relocating to the FT. Meyers area in March and wondered if there is any racing going on within a couple of Hours. I was also wondering what's the story with RPM. I cant find a website.
Thanks in advance
Ernie parison
kaleidoscopem 01-28-2005, 12:26 PM RPM is no more.....itsa shame...was a pretty nice track. It was kinda borking though. Big track, just run wide open, but ya. Last I heard he had some party place thing or something in there. Sorry.
katf1sh 01-30-2005, 04:27 PM ernie rpm is done...
the oval series heads to orlanso are twice..the east coast of florida twice and the tampa bay area twice. there are no flat oval tracks south of daytona..
i will be listing each tracks web site soon...each web site has directions and information about the track and suroundings.
i am trying very hard to make each race a one day event with no need for a hotel room. most of the tracks have lights and the races will be starting later that the usual 11 am start time. this will give the races from far away a chance to leave home early and arrive at the track for practice. every race will have it's usual raffle, 4 rounds of qualifiers and a single main....please any questions email me as well: katf1sh@earthlink.net thanks bill
katf1sh 01-30-2005, 05:41 PM filipow!!!!!!! whats up bro? thanks for the kind words...... you coming to the birds this year?
kaleidoscopem 01-30-2005, 05:48 PM What about the track in Lauderdale? Ya'll gunna run it? Thats soon to be my home track...never been there, or seen it, but ive been told its host to some good racing!
katf1sh 01-30-2005, 06:46 PM it's banked concrete.. weird thing happened here in florida.
time line for banked racing
lake whipporwill 1984-1991 or so we all ran banked
whip closes thunder racing era begins 1991-1998 or so we ran banked
1998-present day no more banked racing for 85% of florida
i have no idea why or how it came about but most of us race flat tracks either carpet or asphault with most of them being parking lot typr surfaces.
the track you mention has a great owner and is super nice but "most" of us just don't race banked cap tire tracks ..we have not done so for the last 8 or 9 years?
the series is full of guys who run "mostly" on flat tracks and "most" of us haven't seen a cap tire in 9 years. kinda strange i know...hope that helps...?
kaleidoscopem 01-30-2005, 11:48 PM HAHA.....Sounds like fun though!!! I think you should throw it in there just for something a lil different...You know. Spice it up a little. Make things interesting! Well all the luck to your organization. Maybe Ill see you down there one day.
apk power 02-01-2005, 05:48 PM Is TQ Hobbies going to start haveing oval races now or that one FOCAR race and thats it
katf1sh 02-01-2005, 06:40 PM apk keep an eye out..TQ will have at least one oval race before the actual focar event...tq may do oval more often as long as there is a turn out for it...i myself can't wait to try out the track!
parrott88 02-01-2005, 07:06 PM What type of track does TQ hobbies have?
rcgen 02-01-2005, 08:58 PM Flat asphault...I believe its smaller than Stricklands.
katf1sh 02-01-2005, 09:07 PM jerry TQ will be alot like the race rock track but the bite should be better and the track is smoother.

Check out racing in Manatee. We have some guys that come every Sunday from Ft. Myers. We are soon to have a new oval. Right now we have a semi-permanent track inside a tennis court given to us by the County. It's an awesome park right off the interestate.

HEY MIKE... I've been checking it out on the net. After the birds, I plan on making the trip. I talked to a guy that has been racing with you (TROY) and he said it was awesome racing. I know you are taking a brake until after the birds, Let me know when you start it up again and I'll be there. I did'nt get to do awhole lot of racing last year. I hope that will be different in 05. Eric. as a racer in the series it's good to have someone as yourself with your fine product line sponsoring the series again. It's a shame you live so far north as our mosquito's down here would love to get at those ever present shorts of yours. We are racing at outdoor tracks this year in the summer, In Florida.
katf1sh 02-20-2005, 02:00 AM these guys make life easy on me, and make the series great!
THE DARKSIDE 02-20-2005, 08:24 PM So far north??? The elevation doesn't even keep them away in Colorado. We'll most likely be donating one of the new 1/10 scale cars. We'll have some big name drivers wheeling those new rides when they come out.
bigdon18 02-23-2005, 10:55 AM kat you got mail.

katf1sh 03-13-2005, 06:19 PM the sedan oval class is for electric touring cars? as long as it's 10th scale has 4 wheel drive hooked up and the tires fit inside the body i don't see why not? oh and make sure it's electric with a oval body.
