View Full Version : DNA Racing - Independant Front Suspension
swtour 01-26-2005, 01:17 AM Introducing the DNA Racing front suspension.
This front end was designed to handle the bumps of a HIGH SPEED VELODROME, and utilizes most of the Associated Dual Sport front end.

JPHRacer 01-26-2005, 02:18 AM Wow that looks like Jakes Old Eono-Glide. Actually other then the towers thats the same idea as what he did 7 years ago.
Cool deal.

swtour 01-26-2005, 02:28 AM David,
I know about the Jake's EconoGlide. I still have it pictured on my old / now defunct web site. That was built for the '95 Nat's at the ENCINO VELODROME where several guys were running the Custom Works Intimidator front end...that was VERY PRICY~

We went away from it after that...and just started using softer springs, long king pins and good lube. 4 cell speeds were slow enough and the cars were light enough it wasn't a problem...but we're getting SOOOOO FAST on the Velo's now w/ 4 cell...there is again a NEED!
How do YOU remember that...you were like 7 weren't you? LOL (Sorry...everybody seems like a KID to me anymore...)
JPHRacer 01-26-2005, 02:48 AM I was 9 to be exact. :) Thats when I started. Just geting introduced. Half of my life ago. ha ha. Damn I'm young.
Nice pic. I used to love those TRC cars.
Hopefully we will get to come down and race with you guys a couple of times this summer. Cant wait for Capped tire racing at Bakersfield. Will be there for that for sure.

Jason Lambert 01-26-2005, 06:29 PM Anyone stil making this setup? if so, I'd be intrested in purchasing one. if there;s anyone with any info, please let me know. thanks.
David Butts 01-26-2005, 07:01 PM Oh so there is a market for an independant front suspension for our pan cars? I've got a design in my head thats basically one molded part away from reality. woo hoo! Machine shop here I come. Well as close to reality as my head can be anyway. ??
swtour 01-26-2005, 08:24 PM Jason,
goto www.southwesttour.com (http://www.southwesttour.com/)
There is info there on how to get ahold of Donn from DNA Racing, and pricing too.
Burbs,
I don't know the availability of the DS front ends. Donn who put this front end together (DNA) has just the plates available or complete w/ front end componets. Goto the above mentioned site, and you can get his email address or phone number there...
Jason Lambert 01-27-2005, 08:22 AM How does the front suspension mount to the chassis? I looked at the pic's, it appears to use a couple of the front suspension holes, but not sure how I will mount it on the front of the car I run ( custom works ) Does anyone have a pic of that front end from the bottom of the car? That would probably tell me what I wanna know. I'll be calling Donn probably this week to order a complete setup.
PUF19 01-27-2005, 11:17 AM Jason, from what i see in the pictures, the solid plate mounts to the chassis, then a bulk head mounts to that and finilly the shock tower mounts to the bulk head.

Jason Lambert 01-27-2005, 06:27 PM yeah, I jsut wonder what the bolt pattern looks like. If some of the 8-32 holes align with the slots in the CW car, I'd be all set... I'm sure that there'd be a place that I could drill the plate where the CW chassis holes are and bolt it on. Just be alot easier to see the bottom of the chassis, and know what chassis I am looking at so that I can go home and dig that chassis out and see how things align up. ( I have one of about every oval car chassis at home, just for these types of things )

We're going to be mounting them on mainly L3's. I haven't seen a new Agressor yet, but if the front end bolt pattern uses the industry standard Associated front end. I believe you'll be set for the 2 rear holes.
Donn can give you more info...he built this last season and it worked really well...so most of US guys who are running the ENCINO VELODROME in Mod and possible 19t will be using this or something similar.
