Honestly, it's sort of like Ford -vs- Chevy...
I raced a TC3 for 3 years, hardcore "parking lot" sedan racing, and won more than my share of races... HOWEVER... When I bought a XXX-S sedan, I knew instantly that I wouldn't go back to my TC3's (I sold the three TC3's I had and now own two XXX-S's)...
The key is that the two sedans are different and they DRIVE differently -- some racers really find that the TC3 "fits" their style, and they are more comfortable with it -- others (like me) find that the XXX-S "fits" their style and they are more comfortable with it...
If you know racers who have these cars, ask for their opinions for the track you will be racing on, and if you are able, maybe even get a "test drive"....

Ditto the Frahmanator's comments ... had a TC3 briefly, went to XXX-S and never regretted it. Still very competitive at all levels of racing with good parts support - there's some killer deals on used XXX-S G+ now because Losi will soon be releasing the JRXS model.

i also had both and even though i all of my cars i have are losi's except the toruing car, i prefer the tc3 for 1 they do not have belts to mess around with, 2 they are very reliable, and 3 its easy to drive as long as your setup is good. With the xxx-s you have to make sure the tension is right and stuff.
My exp was just the opp. I had a tc3 and went to the xxx-s. i found myself wanting my old tc3 back. if anyone is willing to straight trade a tc3 (rolling)for my xxx-s non-graphite. please let me know.
again it goes back to driving style
